Money in the Bank kicked off with the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match, as Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, Giulia, Naomi, and Stephanie Vaquer squared off for the chance to win the briefcase that allows them to cash in on a champion of their choosing at any time.
The match got off to a suitably chaotic start, as momentum traded between each competitor. There were some brutal ladder spots, including a Springboard Moonsault by Perez onto a prone Ripley. The former NXT star was the first to set up a ladder in the middle of the ring, but she was foiled by Alexa Bliss.
Perez and Giulia buried the Eradicator under several ladders at ringside, and Vaquer scaled the ladder with Giulia clinging to her, only to lose her advantage to the Beautiful Madness.
Bliss and Perez were moments away from the briefcase, but found themselves joined by Vaquer and Naomi. Giulia and Perez continued working together, taking down Bliss with a double team move on a ladder. Inevitably, they turned on each other, opening the door to Ripley's return.
She destroyed everyone, but was taken out by Vaquer's Devil's Kiss...on a ladder! It was as awesome as it sounds, and with that, she looked to unhook the briefcase until Perez intervened. She and Bliss hit dual Code Reds on Vaquer and Naomi on the ladders below, and as chants of "This Is Awesome!" filled the building, Bliss and Ripley raced up the ladder before Naomi sent them face-first into the ladder below.
With that, she was able to climb the ladder and win the Women's Money in the Bank briefcase! Fans have wanted to see Naomi get a proper push in WWE, and it appears a Women's World Championship reign now awaits her.
As a reminder, she held the SmackDown Women's Championship on two occasions and won the TNA Knockouts World Championship in 2023. However, her new heel persona has really struck a chord with WWE fans, and it feels like this is Naomi's opportunity to cement her legacy. Should a newcomer have won in her place? That's up for debate.
