Despite WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 39 taking place in less than 24 hours from when it was announced, WWE added another match onto the lineup on last night's edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Zelina Vega and Chelsea Green have had their issues for several months, ultimately leading to Vega defeating Green to win the Women's United States Championship on the April 25, 2025 episode of SmackDown.
Since then, Green has been trying to find a way to get her title back, often at the expense of SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis getting annoyed at her. Finally, he had enough tonight and had booked two matches following a backstage brawl that erupted when The Green Regime were making fun of Vega, calling her a loser for getting pinned in her Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match.
B-Fab and Michin were able to beat The Secret Hervice (Alba Fyre and Piper Niven), and despite that, as well as Giulia being the one to most recently score a pin over Vega, it was announced that Green will get her opportunity to win back her title at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Prior to this announcement, there were no women's division matches on the card, and this undoubtedly finishes the lineup, as there's no way WWE has room for more than five matches on their two-hour special, making this the final card for WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 39:
- Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk and Sami Zayn
- Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Jey Uso (c) vs Logan Paul
- Singles Match for the Women's United States Championship: Zelina Vega (c) vs Chelsea Green
- Steel Cage Match: Damian Priest vs Drew McIntyre
- Non-Title Match: John Cena vs R-Truth
When it comes to the upcoming Worlds Collide event that will feature talent from AAA, WWE, NXT, and TNA Wrestling on June 7, 2025, one match has finally been announced.
Despite their problems as of late, Legado del Fantasma (Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo, and Santos Escobar) will be in a six-man tag team match together as they face El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown.
The event will apparently be broadcast on YouTube in both English and Spanish, as opposed to how WWE events air on Peacock in the United States and Netflix elsewhere.
