Earlier tonight, several entrants for the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble match were announced to be officially added to the lineup, as CM Punk was joined by Seth "Freakin'" Rollins and "The Scottish Warrior" Drew McIntyre. That brought the total for the 30-Man match up to 7 so far, as Jey Uso, John Cena, Roman Reigns and LA Knight had previously all also declared themselves as entrants.
It took until the 3/4 mark of tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw to finally get around to announcing ONE of the WWE Superstars set to battle it out in the Women's Royal Rumble match, but we now know at least that one participant.
When Rhea Ripley was cutting a promo about how she defeated Liv Morgan to win the Women's World Championship, she was interrupted by Nia Jax. The Irresistible Force—sporting a full-on cheetah body suit—spoke for a moment about how she was talking to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce about the transfer window (more on that here) and decided to come out to announce that she will be in the Royal Rumble.
Jax just recently lost the WWE Women's Championship after her "friend" Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase and pinned her on the January 3, 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown following Jax's successful title defense over Naomi, albeit due to some interference from Stratton in the process that helped her out. As such, Jax is undoubtedly looking for some revenge, but also made it a point to eye up The Eradicator's Women's World Championship, stating that when she wins the Royal Rumble, she'll be able to go after any title that she wants, implying she could just be switching over to the red brand if that were to happen.
Jax also decided to insult Bayley, who was ringside, resulting in the segment ending with Ripley and Bayley teaming up to send Jax retreating.
While we can assume Bayley will also be in the Royal Rumble, that has not yet been confirmed.
Jax has an interesting history with the Royal Rumble, having competed in five of the women's matches and one of the men's matches, coming out at #30 for her men's appearance as well as her 2023 women's entry. In fact, Jax has only ever been at #19 or above, and was #29 twice, putting her in a league where she has had some of the best chances of winning the match out of anyone, only to never walk out the victor.
