WrestleMania Sunday (Night 2) was main evented by CM Punk defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. The Best in the World gave it his all, but ultimately, he was unable to keep the OTC down in what may go down as his hardest-fought battle yet.
So, what's next for Reigns? Well, he's already confirmed that he's heading to RAW tonight, and as the RAW after WrestleMania is typically where the next set of storylines begin taking shape, that question may be answered in a matter of hours.
According to Bodyslam.net, both Gunther and Oba Femi are expected to be part of Reigns' upcoming feuds.
In fact, it seems RAW will be built around him this entire summer, as he told fans during the WrestleMania post-show, "I’m gonna take you all to Monday Night RAW tomorrow night. All this part-time crap? We’re gonna fix that. Y’all better make some room, because you’re gonna see my ass all summer."
Interestingly, Femi has already teased the possibility of making Reigns his next target after retiring Brock Lesnar on the Grandest Stage of Them All...
Responding to Femi laying down the gauntlet, Reigns said, "Oba, you gon' kill me? See, you seem a little fresh in the business. You did a big thing tonight. But I’ve done that many times. And I’ve done it with a title on the line, I took it, I defended it, let’s see how you do through the summer. And then we’ll know if you can step up to the greatest of all time."
Paul Heyman owes Gunther a favour, so his being Reigns' next challenger would make sense. Reigns vs. Femi feels like a WrestleMania main event in the making, and we'll have to wait and see who gets to the Head of the Table first.
During a recent interview with ESPN, Reigns named some of the WWE Superstars he thinks could step up to challenge him down the line.
"Femi, no doubt. I mean, there's a lot of great young talent," he said. "I really like what I'm seeing from Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, and Carmelo Hayes. [Hayes] has been up for a little while. He's had a different route than the other guys. So I've really liked the resiliency that he's shown. He's torn it up on SmackDown for a while now. So I'm looking for big things from him too."
Stay tuned tonight for all the biggest news from the RAW after WrestleMania.
