Rey Fenix finally makes his way to WWE.
The former International and Lucha Underground Champion was finally granted his release from AEW following a months long battle of trying to get out of his contract. The former AEW star officially makes his Smackdown debut after a decorated career on the independent scene.
Before AEW, the 34-year-old wrestled in Lucha Underground, TNA/Impact Wrestling, CMLL, AAA, DEFY Wrestling, and dozens of other promotions in the span of his 20 plus year career. Fenix’s opponent has yet to be determined, but it should be a fun ride regardless.
In what’s sure to be a brutal and violence match, Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman will finally settle their feud in a Last Man Standing match. The former WWE Universal Champion was one of the Bloodline’s latest victims. However, Strowman has gotten the better of Fatu since his return. Jacob Fatu is a beast, but he’s never been in a Last Man Standing match. Can the Samoan beast take down the monster among men?
The Street Profits need new challengers and the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team titles will be determined tonight. “Motor City Machine Guns” Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin already have a gripe against the Profits because Dawkins and Ford cost them their match at the Royal Rumble. But DIY are desperate to try and recapture the prestigious belts that they held for 98 days. Which team will win the opportunity to fight the Street Profits for the tag team titles?
All this and more is confirmed for tonight’s Smackdown set in Chicago. Expect CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens to appear.
