The RAW after WrestleMania ended with Roman Reigns being written off TV. Now, following a brief return, it seems we'll be saying goodbye to the OTC again if how things played out during last night's RAW after SummerSlam are any indication.
Seth Rollins cashed in on CM Punk at SummerSlam to become World Heavyweight Champion, and the Second City Saint attacked the Visionary during his title match against LA Knight, just as the heel was about to play a Curb Stop onto the concrete on his opponent.
Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed eventually gained the upper hand and beat both Punk and Knight down, prompting Reigns to make the save (and take his long-awaited revenge on his former Shield brother).
Well, he, too, was destroyed in an angle that appeared to set the stage for another extended absence. Shooting is about to start on the Street Fighter movie, and it appears WWE is looking to stretch this storyline into a WarGames match at SummerSlam in November. Rollins and Reigns squaring off at WrestleMania next year also seems likely.
A lot of Superstars are currently orbiting Rollins' faction, and it's unclear what WWE's endgame is. Based on footage shared by a fan after RAW went off the air, it seems likely that we could get a Punk vs. Knight feud. That or a tense partnership.
"My wife is an unwilling participant in this ruse," Rollins said of Becky Lynch in a recent interview while addressing his surprise return from "injury" at SummerSlam. "She was very upset at me for making me lie to all of her friends and family for the better part of three weeks."
“Limping around on those crutches for three weeks was excruciating. That was painful," he admitted. "I did it all on crutches. It was excruciating… I was getting irritable, my wife was putting up with me being grumpy. It was a tough one, but we pulled through and did it. For the greater good."
