WWE has given its Superstars the week off for the holidays, and former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has spent some of his downtime delivering pizza to sick children at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
The OTC was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2007, and in 2018, he was forced to relinquish the Universal Championship when the disease returned. He successfully defeated cancer for a second time and has since continued to use his platform as WWE's biggest star to raise awareness for pediatric cancer patients.
Reigns is a big supporter of the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, having made frequent visits to the facility in the past to give the kids being cared for there a much-needed morale boost.
While the Head of the Table didn't publicise his visit, the staff at Mimi's Ravioli did in a recent Instagram post. "I don’t know if you know this guy story but he is a true hero," they wrote. "It’s two days before Christmas and all the money in the world and this guy is picking up pizza to deliver to the sick kids at the hospital on his own time."
"They don’t make them like this guy. This guy is what you call a true life hero. I’m glad we can call Joe [Anoa’i] our friend thank you for stopping by saying hello and bring the kids Pizza."
"It’s an honor to have you walk through my doors buddy. Keep doing what you’re doing and keep paying it forward. God created people like you to make this a better place thank you guys from my family to everyone," the post added. "I kept the line for 10 straight hours today and Mimi‘s. We won’t stop until every order is done thank you. We are blessed from my family, my friends and my workers. We thank you all."
Reigns last competed at Survivor Series: WarGames, and with Seth Rollins on the injured list, he's expected to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania. Speculation continues to run rampant that the American Nightmare will turn heel, creating something of a role reversal from their previous matches on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
We'll see whether that pans out (much can change between now and April), but Reigns remains one of WWE's biggest draws and will surely be part of the Royal Rumble card in Saudi Arabia next month. 2026 will also see him take on a lead role as Akuma in the new Street Fighter movie.
