Fans were not happy about the release of R-Truth.

After nearly two decades of entertaining the WWE fans with his hilarious antics, WWE decided to put R-Truth on the release list back in June. His 17-year tenure with WWE came to an abrupt end fans were not having any of it. So the fans started chanting Truth’s name on weekly shows until he made his shocking return at Saturday Night’s Main Event a couple of weeks later.

It’s been a whirlwind ride for Killings in 2025, but the WWE star recalled the moments after he got the call for his release and Killings admitted that he cried because of the love he has for the business.

“It was my lowest. I was crying. I cried. I cried for the love,” he said on  Ringer Wrestling.

Killings was asked about the overwhelming support from the wrestlers and fans and he’s grateful for all of it.

"Unity. We’re talking about the world. Different countries. I got DMs, emails, tweets from different people. All different races, nationalities, walks of life. I cried just for the sake of humanity. Over me? We all agreed on one thing. ‘This is wrong.’ That was the most powerful thing I ever had in my life happen to me. For me, any adversity I went through, to be where I’m at. I stuck it out. I made lemonade out of chicken shit. Really, when we don’t know, the world is watching us.

There were people who don’t wrestle across all social media, over 100 million. People that have been part of my legacy, I’m part of their legacy. People that grew up with me. When I meet fans and they’re like, ‘You remind me of my grandma, my grandpa, my dad, my brother, my sister, my aunt, my uncle.’ There are so many things tied into me with people. It was the most moving thing God has ever shown and given me.”

We’ll be able to see how WWE can fully capitalize on Ron’s popularity on Friday Night Smackdown. Killings has been off television for a bit but that will probably change because Summerslam is officially over.

Check out the full interview where Killings goes into depth about his WWE career, such as cutting off his hair on live television and his upcoming country album. The Ringer Wrestling episode also features interviews with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, former United States Champion Chelsea Green, and former NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez.
