The Royal Rumble PLE took place in Saudi Arabia yesterday, and Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan are on their way to the main events of WrestleMania!
Elsewhere in the show, Drew McIntyre retained the Undisputed WWE Championship after defeating Sami Zayn and AJ Styles was retired by Gunter after the dominant Austrian made him pass out in his patented sleeper hold.
WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella was the biggest surprise in the Women's Royal Rumble match, though Tiffany Stratton's return in the #30 spot was another fun moment. Superstars like Lash Legend and Sol Ruca were also given a major push by WWE in the 30-woman bout.
However, Morgan stood tall after eliminating fellow Judgement Day member Raquel Rodriguez and, eventually, Ruca and Stratton.
There was no sign of Chris Jericho in the Men's Royal Rumble match, but a mysterious masked figure attacked Bron Breakker during his entrance, making him easy prey for the dominant Oba Femi.
While a few AAA stars were given the chance to shine, TNA didn't have a presence. El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) was confronted by the Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) in a fun spot, and Brock Lesnar dominated before being eliminated by Cody Rhodes and LA Knight during Jey Uso's entrance (which was a tad underwhelming).
One of the biggest talking points is the WWE debut of former AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs, who is now being called Royce Keys.
McIntyre helped with Rhodes' elimination, with the stage seemingly set for them and Jacob Fatu to square off for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the not-too-distant future.
The match ultimately came down to Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Logan Paul, and Gunther, after the OTC threw Jey Uso over the top rope. Paul was also eliminated by Roman before Gunther took out The Viper. Ultimately, it came down to the Tribal Chief and a weakened Gunther, with Reigns eventually standing tall.
