On tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, General Manager Adam Pearce apologized to Bron Breakker and placed all members of The Vision into the Royal Rumble match, before booking Austin Theory in a one-on-one match against Rey Mysterio to follow up on the events of last week's match.
Theory got the better of Mysterio, and The Vision ganged up on the GMOAT as well as Dragon Lee and Penta.
Unfortunately, it looks like the master of the 619 might have gotten injured in this segment, as during the beat down section after the match, the referee threw up the dreaded X sign and attended to Mysterio, who stayed out of The Vision's way and was off to the side.
Rey was helped to the back, and at the moment, nothing has been confirmed about the status of this injury, what it might be, and what this means for the Royal Rumble, as Mysterio was one of the entrants confirmed to be slotted for the match.
In fact, on this very episode of Raw, Adam Pearce told Finn Balor that the Royal Rumble was 100 percent filled and there were no spots left to put Balor in. If Mysterio is injured enough to be pulled from the match, that will have to be a gap in logic WWE wishes fans would just ignore [Note: Even though it could be easily explained as "Pearce still chose to put someone else in that spot over Balor because he had already said that Balor had already gotten his title shot and just values putting Wrestler X in there instead, since they were an alternate before Balor was under consideration." - That's too wordy in comparison to just not calling attention to it and allowing fans to fill in the gaps themselves.]
In the meantime, stay tuned for further updates on the list of Royal Rumble entrants as well as any more information on the nature of Mysterio's injury whenever those reports come out, and be sure to drop your comments below with your thoughts on what this might mean going forward with Mysterio's current rivalries opposite The Vision and Dominik Mysterio in AAA.
