RUMOR: WWE Is Looking To Bring In The Rock And Stone Cold Steve Austin For Matches At WRESTLEMANIA 43

WrestleMania is heading to Saudi Arabia in 2027, and the Kingdom is clearly hoping to make this the biggest Showcase of the Immortals ever.

2027 marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of the First Saudi State, and the Show of Shows promises to be a focal point of the country's celebrations as it continues to cement itself as one of the biggest entertainment destinations in the world.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority wants to load the card up with as many big names as possible, including WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin.

While he'll be 62 by the time this WrestleMania happens, it sounds like Austin is considering the offer and would use the next 18 months or so to make sure he's ready for what we have to believe would be his final match. The Texas Rattlesnake last competed at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, where he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match.

Austin turned down a cameo appearance in the WrestleMania 40 main event, but did make a non-wrestling appearance at this year's show in Las Vegas.

Meltzer has also revealed that negotiations are already underway to bring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson into the WrestleMania main event. Talks with the Final Boss are said to be advancing, meaning we could get that long-awaited match pitting The Rock against Roman Reigns.

Or, could WWE be really bold and give us The Rock vs. Steve Austin? We'll see.

The deal is supposedly close to being finalised, anyway, with Meltzer adding, "The impression is that the final payment number for the show will be affected by whether or not they get The Rock in the main event. The idea is that the individual payoff for Johnson would be multiple times that of any pro wrestler for any event in history."

It's added that the value of the event is thought to be over $100 million, allowing WWE to pull out all the stops for the first WrestleMania to take place outside of the United States. It's hard to see how any country or city can compete with that moving forward, and we can't help but wonder whether the Show of Shows might find a permanent home in Saudi Arabia.

As always, make sure to stay tuned for updates on WWE's plans for Wrestlemania 43 as we have them.
