This week has seen R-Truth and Carlito both released by WWE after the company decided not to renew their contracts. Now, we have news of another departure as Valhalla, a.k.a. Sarah Logan, has also announced her departure from the sports entertainment giant.
Logan began her wrestling career in 2011 under the name Crazy Mary Dobson, competing on the independent circuit and in Japan, where she was trained by Mad Man Pondo, Mickie Knuckles, and TAKA Michinoku, winning seven titles over eight years.
She eventually signed with WWE in 2016, debuting in NXT as Sarah Dobson. By 2017, she joined the main roster as part of The Riott Squad with Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan, competing in high-profile matches until the group disbanded in 2019. Logan’s solo run was brief, and she was released in April 2020.
She returned in 2022 as Valhalla, aligning with The Viking Raiders, adopting a Norse-inspired persona. Her role shifted to manager, but when Erik and Ivar were sidelined due to injury, so was Logan. They've since returned as The War Raiders, minus any Viking gimmick, meaning there wasn't a place for Logan by their side.
The women's division is stacked and continuously adding new names like Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. With that in mind, WWE likely couldn't find a role for Logan.
Here's what Logan had to say about leaving WWE:
"I come to you with tears in my eyes cause our time has come to a sudden end. WWE informed me yesterday that they are letting my contract expire. To be completely honest my ego can’t help but be damaged. You always assume that when you end a lifelong career there is going to be a grand exit. But here I am, using the notes app on my phone typing up a goodbye letter to an entity that will forget I was even there. I truly take no offense to this, my career as it was is getting usurped by my vocation and it’s all on a Divine timeline that I I trust deeply."
"I’ll definitely miss you but know I’ll be taken care of by my wonderful husband, by the land you provided for me and alongside the children I’ve made along the way. I’m going to take off the weight of being a superstar and let myself soar being just Sarah. She’s been growing on me and it’s time I let her fully cultivate. I love all the people you’ve brought into my life but my social media page won’t be about you anymore. It will share only the parts of me that I wish and none of that will be wrestling. I’m more of a clean break kinda girl and the other calls to me will be taking my full attention. With all my love, Sarah."
