Saraya Reveals Whether She Would Use "Paige" Name Again In WWE Following Her Shocking Departure From AEW

The news broke earlier this week that Saraya has left AEW. It was a shocking development, and all eyes are now on whether she returns to WWE. If that happens, though, will she go by the name "Paige" again?

For a while now, we've been under the belief that Saraya was locked into her AEW contract until at least September. With the vast majority of fans unhappy with how Tony Khan booked her in the company, the hope has been that she might return to WWE.

Now, there's a chance that will happen sooner rather than later. This week saw Saraya confirm that she's negotiated with AEW to be released from her contract, meaning she's a free agent and able to sign with WWE any day now.

Before a neck injury sidelined her, Paige found great success in the company as NXT Women's Champion and Divas Champion. Talking about a possible WWE return, she said, "You know what, this came up so much at my signing yesterday. I didn’t realize I always have this insecurity, I guess, where I feel like people just don’t give a crap about me [Laughs], and I have to be reminded of it all the time."

"I really do. I really do. But I get so many people wondering if I’m gonna go back there. I’m just like, I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe if there’s something cool that comes along, they would want me back there. Maybe. Who knows?" Saraya teased. "Who knows what the future holds? Never say never."

It's obvious that she's choosing her words carefully, and it would be beyond baffling for Triple H not to bring Saraya back for one final run (and a well-deserved WWE Hall of Fame induction).

We've seen returning WWE talent like Shawn Spears and Jade Cargill keep their AEW names, but would Saraya return to her better-known moniker, "Paige"? If these remarks are any indication, she's eager to take back the name that put her on the map.

"Paige. Paige. Paige, I felt like I could leave that character at the door. I love being Saraya, and I love that people know me as Saraya and stuff like that," she started. "With Paige though, I felt like I built such a special thing with her, and then when I got home, I didn’t have to be her anymore. But I loved who I built with her. She was a badass. I loved being her, and she has built my life."

"I got a movie made about Paige. A lot of my career is built on that character, and people love that character, and that’s the one that kind of stood out compared to everybody else," she added. "She has a special place in my heart. If I was to go back, Paige in a heartbeat. Same music, Paige, everything."
