This year's WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event featured the traditional women's and men's cage matches to determine the No. 1 contenders for the WWE Women's Championship (curently held by Jade Cargill) and the Undisputed WWE Championship (currently held by Drew McIntyre).

First up on the event was the Women's Elimination Chamber match, which was ultimately won by Rhea Ripley.

Alexa Bliss was eliminated by Kiana James, who was then pinned alongside Asuka by Raquel Rodriguez. Rodriguez was pinned by Tiffany Stratton, who was then taken out by The Eradicator for the win.

With that, Ripley has earned herself her sixth world championship match at WrestleMania, currently sitting at a 3-2 record, beating Asuka in 2021, Charlotte Flair in 2023, and Becky Lynch in 2024, but losing to Flair in 2020 and to Iyo Sky last year.

Later, in the main event, Randy Orton was the victor of the Men's Elimination Chamber match, last eliminating Cody Rhodes. This came about after Logan Paul eliminated Je'Von Evans, LA Knight, and Trick Williams, before a masked man went after him.

That masked man was unmasked to be just another no-name guy, only for a second masked person to also attack Paul. After a superkick and a stomp, this masked man revealed himself to be Seth Rollins, who primed Cody Rhodes to pick up a pin on Paul.

Drew McIntyre then attacked Rhodes, though, and that distraction was enough for Orton to hit an RKO for the win.

Important to note, though, on the post-show immediately following this, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Drew McIntyre will have to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes on Friday Night SmackDown, meaning we could see Cody Rhodes against Randy Orton instead of it being The Viper against The Scottish Warrior.

For those curious about Orton's WrestleMania world title record, he lost three (2006 to Rey Mysterio, 2009 to Triple H, and 2014 to Daniel Bryan) and won twice (2008 over Triple H and John Cena, and 2017 over Bray Wyatt).

While there are many more matches that will be added to WrestleMania weekend, this is the updated current card for WWE WrestleMania 42's lineup:

  • Singles Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
  • Singles Match for the WWE Women's World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
  • Singles Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
  • Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) [or Cody Rhodes] vs. Randy Orton
  • Open Challenge: Brock Lesnar vs. TBD

What do you think of this year's Elimination Chamber winners? Were you rooting for others? Who do you think will win those WrestleMania matches? Drop your thoughts and predictions in the comments below and keep the discussion going!
