Despite retiring 15 years ago, Trish Stratus returned to WWE in 2023 and made quite an impact. The WWE Hall of Famer ended up feuding with Becky Lynch for over six months before their feud ended in a Steel Cage match at Payback.
Stratus even competed in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match in London, England, and proved that, despite once being a "WWE Diva," she still very much has it and can hold her own with the best of them.
She's since hosted the Money in the Bank PLE in her hometown of Toronto, Canada, and returned at this year's Royal Rumble PLE. She eliminated Candice LeRae before being eliminated by Nia Jax, and teamed up with WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at Elimination Chamber to battle the heel duo in a winning effort.
Now, it appears another return is in the works for Stratus. According to Fightful, WWE is eager for the Attitude Era icon to compete at the upcoming Evolution 2 PLE in Atlanta on July 13.
Nothing has been finalised, but it sounds like potential creative options are available to Stratus should she decide to be part of the show. This comes after @WrestleVotes claimed that Stratus' latest comeback was "right around the corner."
WWE is likely to start the build to Evolution 2 during tonight's RAW. With less than two weeks before the show takes place, not a single match has been announced.
"2023 was probably the most insane year I've had on all fronts," Stratus previously said. "I did not expect...I returned to wrestling, obviously, a little mini-program turned into six months. So much fun. I have a lot of things that are percolating and we'll let you know when we can let you know. I'm excited. We're on a roll here."
"Good things are happening, new opportunities and stuff that I didn't even think I could tap into that I am. It's been fun. I can't wait."
"Honestly, at the end of the day, the support from my Stratospherians, we are so thankful for everyone," Stratus continued. "They are what drive us; they're what make us, and your interests are what make the interests, and therefore, we are a thing."
"Thank you to all my Stratospherians for coming out, for supporting, and it was so fun when I went back to wrestling, tapping into 'if you know you know' moments and having that 'Oh, I loved when she did that back in the day.' That was fun. I look forward to doing that [again]. I'm so excited."
Stay tuned for updates on Stratus' WWE status as we have them.
