The Rock Has Nothing But Good Things To Say About WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens
During his visit to RAW this past Monday, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson crossed paths with Kevin Owens and has taken to Instagram to praise the Universal Champion and how far he's come in the past few years.
The rise of Kevin Owens has been incredible. As Kevin Steen, he quickly emerged as one of the independent wrestling scene's biggest stars and upon his arrival in NXT, Owens quickly became the brand's top star. From there, he moved up to the main roster with the NXT Championship (an unprecedented move) and beat John Cena during his first match on a PPV.
From there, Owens held a decent spot on the upper end of the midcard for some time, frequently stealing the show and proving to be one of the most entertaining Superstars on both RAW and SmackDown. However, it wasn't until the brand split that he truly became a main eventer by winning the Universal Championship and frequently headlining RAW PPVs in superb matches with the likes of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
Interestingly, Owens crossed paths with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on Monday night, and the wrestler turned Hollywood A-Lister was quick to take to Instagram in order to praise Owens' rise to stardom over the past five years or so. Getting a seal of approval from one of WWE's biggest stars in no bad thing and The Great One praising Owens is very, very cool.
