Prior to WWE Monday Night Raw going on the air, WWE recorded three matches to be aired at a later date.
Two of those were this week's episode of WWE Main Event, which featured Ludwig Kaiser against New Catch Republic's Tyler Bate and Zoey Stark against Alpha Academy's Maxxine Dupri.
The other match was taped for WWE Speed, wherein El Grande Americano defeated Dragon Lee to win the men's WWE Speed Championship. Surprisingly, this is Chad Gable's first singles championship, and it not only is under a different character name, but it's the one belt WWE doesn't acknowledge in almost any situation as for some reason, whoever holds the Speed titles never carries those belts on the air in any of the other shows.
Some other talking points that aren't worth fully dedicated posts of their own are that Sheamus made his return to action after not competing since the Royal Rumble, wherein he defeated Austin Theory, who had been set up for the match by Grayson Waller.
Another return victory was for Rusev, who defeated Otis (and then beat down Akira Tozawa post-match for good measure, too), in his first match for World Wrestling Entertainment since the February 17, 2020 episode of Raw when he lost a tag team match alongside Humberto Carillo to Angel Garza and Bobby Lashley.
Noteworthy for the main event, Seth Rollins nearly won the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso, but CM Punk returned to come out with a steel chair in hand, attacking both Bron Breakker and Rollins. It has most likely led to a disqualification victory for Rollins, but it could have been ruled a no-contest. Nothing was announced for the finish. If it is indeed ruled a victory for The Visionary, this along with his and Paul Heyman's manipulation tactics could be what sets up a rematch in the future where Rollins could get another shot at beating Uso for the title.
After Monday Night Raw was off the air, the action apparently didn't stop. In a social media exclusive (until it airs on either NXT, SmackDown, or next week's Raw, naturally) shown below, Jey Uso was shaking hands with the crowd when he was struck in the face with a sucker punch from Logan Paul, who had disguised himself as a member of the audience and ran off after knocking out the world heavyweight champion.
