WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque was recently a guest on The Pat McAfee Show and weighed in on AJ Lee's recent return to WWE.
That's already been hailed as an all-time great moment by many, and on RAW this past Monday, the stage was set for Lee to team with CM Punk for a match with Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza this month.
"When you have four performers who are that talented, and AJ just coming back, it’s been ten years, and she hasn’t missed a beat," The Game said. "Just right in there and as charismatic as ever. Fans are loving it."
Triple H didn't address reports that Lee has signed a multi-year, full-time contract, but the expectation is that we'll be seeing much more of her beyond Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
Talking of the PLE, Triple H willingly dropped a spoiler for the show when he confirmed that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is going to be at the event.
We haven't seen the American Nightmare since he was written off television in late August (following an attack by Drew McIntyre) to go and film the upcoming Street Fighter movie. While it's unlikely he'll compete at Wrestlepalooza, Rhodes will be there. "I’ll give you a spoiler right now. Cody will be back [in] Indianapolis," Triple H confirmed.
McIntyre is expected to square off with Randy Orton at the show, so we'd bet on Rhodes getting involved with that match somehow. Still, it's not outside the realm of possibility that WWE could announce a title match with the Scottish Warrior this close to the PLE.
Elsewhere in the conversation, the WWE CCO weighed in on some of the backlash that Netflix's WWE Unreal documentary has received since premiering on the streaming platform.
"It’s funny that the internet is all complaining that we’re lifting the curtain and showing you stuff. Meanwhile, they’re doing a podcast that all it does is talk about the behind-the-scenes sht that’s going on. I don’t understand that logic," he said. "The world knows. An eight-year-old kid picks up his iPhone, Googles stuff, and it tells them all the behind-the-scenes stuff right there."
