Last night's SmackDown opened with Logan Paul making his way to the ring to a chorus of boos from fans in Lyon, France. The Maverick began by taking credit for WWE's massive rights deals with Netflix and ESPN, branding himself a disruptor and the future of professional wrestling.
John Cena then made his way to the ring and absolutely destroyed Paul on the mic. Pointing out that he's no longer considered one of the world's top influencers, the Leader of the Cenation declared that his Clash in Paris opponent is only in WWE because he's seeking a new revenue stream.
Vowing to defeat Paul on Sunday, Cena then decided to show the YouTuber what respect looks like by apologising to the little boy he tore into in Brussels several months ago when he was a heel.
The kid, who quickly went viral and became a meme during WWE's last European tour, accepted Cena's apology and the two hugged at ringside before the 17-time WWE Champion made his way to the back.
Clash in Paris, takes place in the Paris La Defense Arena in Paris, France, this Sunday, August 31. If you happen to be residing in France, the show will have an 8pm start time; that's 7pm in the UK, and 2pm ET/11am PT in the U.S.
