Tonight on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, two matches took place in the Last Time is Now tournament, which will determine who John Cena's final opponent will be for the December 13, 2025 edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
Jey Uso picked up a victory over The Miz by pinfall in the first bout of the night.
Later on, LA Knight defeated Matt Cardona, who returned to WWE in his Zack Ryder persona. Cardona had previously wrestled in October on NXT against Josh Briggs, but had not wrestled a match on the WWE main roster since losing to Bobby Lashley on the March 9, 2020 episode of Monday Night Raw.
Ryder came up short after Knight landed his BFT finisher to pick up the pinfall.
Previously announced during Monday Night Raw, Nick Aldis decided to keep one of the other competitors a secret, but that person will be up against Solo Sikoa. The other match on Raw next Monday night will be a returning Gunther against NXT Superstar Je'Von Evans, who is also scheduled to team with TNA Wrestling's X Division champion Leon Slater against DarkState on NXT Gold Rush for the NXT Tag Team Championship titles.
Nothing has been clarified as far as the bracket, so we still don't know who LA Knight or Jey Uso will face next, nor Rusev (who defeated Damian Priest) or Sheamus (who defeated Shinsuke Nakamura) will be up against in the next round.
To recap, here is what we've got coming our way for The Last Time is Now tournament:
- Monday Night Raw 11/17 - Solo Sikoa vs. TBA
- Monday Night Raw 11/17 - Gunther vs. Je'Von Evans
- Friday Night SmackDown 11/21 - Carmelo Hayes vs. Bronson Reed
