WrestleMania Backlash was a stacked show and one that even saw WWE go full WCW by having The Miz and Damian Priest get eaten by zombies. During the Kickoff show, Sheamus retained his United States Championship in a match with Ricochet which saw the Celtic Warrior emerge with the victory after kicking out of the 450 splash and a rollup to hit a huge knee for the 1-2-3.
Later, Rhea Ripley put her RAW Women's Championship on the line against Charlotte Flair and Asuka. It was a competitive bout, and one that saw The Queen very nearly win after hitting a double Natural Selection on both of her opponents. However, Ripley was able to take advantage of a mistake by Charlotte to hit Asuka with the Riptide to retain her title.
The second women's division bout of the night featured SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair defend the title against Bayley.
Despite being hit with a Bayley to Belly, the EST refused to stay down and rolled up her experienced opponent (with some help from her braid) to secure the victory.
The other big championship match of the night saw the Dirty Dawgz (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode) forced to put the SmackDown Tag Team Championships on the line against the father and son team of Rey and Dominik Mysterio. This was only their third title defence in four months, so a title change was definitely welcomed.
Yes, Rey and Dominik made history after Dominik hit a big splash to score the win. With that, they're now the first father/son Tag Team Champions in WWE history!
