Preview & Predictions for WWE Backlash 2026:
On tap for tonight's event, only five matches are on the card, since WWE feels like they don't need to do any more than that for a five hour show where the first two hours will be a pre-show consisting entirely of filler and the main card chock full of advertisements and non-wrestling, too. If recent reports are true, one of these five matches will be "very short" as well, meaning don't count on this being a lot of bang for your buck.
At the very least, it should be interesting to see Jacob Fatu face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, considering how much The Samoan Werewolf has been wrecking The Original Tribal Chief with his Tongan Death Grip. Even still, Reigns isn't going to drop the title. Despite taking June off the schedule, I can't imagine WWE put the belt on Roman at WrestleMania just to hot potato it right after in his first defense.
I also don't think Trick Williams is dropping the Men's United States Championship back to Sami Zayn for the same reason. All bets on the lemon pepper steppers walking out with the title belt.
Danhausen and his tag team partner will most likely beat The Miz and Kit Wilson, as a story like that calls for the comedic heels to get their comeuppance.
Speaking of a heel being put in their place, Asuka losing to Iyo Sky is a safe bet. Even with the driving force of that entire angle, Kairi Sane, no longer being on the roster to give this the satisfying conclusion it needed, Sky has to win to just end this story and move on to something else.
Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker is a more difficult one to predict, as it could go either way and they could continue to feud after no matter what the outcome. My guess is it will go to Rollins, but Breakker and/or The Vision will go on the attack after the match.
