WWE King & Queen Of The Ring Tournaments Begin Next Week

During the June 6, 2025 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, there was a backstage pre-taped joint announcement made from Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about how even though Money in the Bank has yet to happen (tomorrow), nothing ever slows down in WWE.

Next week, the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will return as a cross-branded competition, but with a different setup than before.

Likely in an attempt to quicken up the pace and get all of this in over a shorter time frame, instead of 16 men and women having a full-blown tournament with 8 first-round matches for each bracket, there will instead be four different Fatal 4-Way matches to determine who will be the semifinalists.

Those semifinals will be contested between one Raw Superstar and one SmackDown Superstar (rather than a finalist from Raw and a finalist from SmackDown, for some reason), leading into the finals, which will take place at WWE Night of Champions on June 28, 2025 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

So far, only two of the participants out of the 32 men and women have been announced, as there was a backstage segment where Jade Cargill was interviewed about how she missed her opportunity to be in Money in the Bank ladder match, but she has her eyes set on winning Queen of the Ring.

Charlotte Flair interrupted to talk about how she is going to win Queen of the Ring, instead (obviously), and gave Cargill some words of warning that salt and sugar look the same and Cargill should be wise in her choices of the friends she keeps, in regards to the drama with Bianca Belair and Naomi that's gone down over the past year.

The winners of the tournaments who get crowned as King and Queen of the Ring at Night of Champions will once again receive world title matches for their respective brands at the upcoming two-night WWE SummerSlam premium live event coming up August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Who do you think will win the crowns this year? Drop your predictions and reactions to this announcement in the comments below!
