The next edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event—January 25, 2025 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas—has two more additions to its lineup.
Tonight on WWE SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis tried to get Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens to sign an addendum to their contracts for their upcoming ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. They not only refused to do so until the other person did, but caused enough of a fuss that Aldis decided to book a contract signing between them for Saturday Night's Main Event, which will be moderated by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels!
The Heartbreak Kid will oversee both men hand over their title belts (Cody's title, as well as the Winged Eagle belt Kevin Owens has been parading around since the last Saturday Night's Main Event) in order for them to be suspended above the ring at Royal Rumble. There will be a change of sorts to the match, but we don't know yet what that addendum will be.
Also added to the card is a kaiju-style clash as Braun Strowman will face Jacob Fatu.
On SmackDown, Fatu and Tama Tonga were beating down on Jimmy Uso and Carmelo Hayes when LA Knight and Braun Strowman ran in to fight them off.
Knight is scheduled to face Tonga on next week's SmackDown, while The Monster of All Monsters (* side note, among Strowman's nicknames, I've always preferred The Monster Among Men or A Mountain of a Man, not this new version, what about you?) and The Samoan Werewolf will be on the special NBC/Peacock broadcast.
This may be when we find out more about whether Fatu and Tonga are still operating underneath Solo Sikoa's leadership, as he said didn't speak at all during his appearance on this episode, strangely.
Be sure to check out the full results of tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown to find out what else happened on the show.
What do you think will change about the ladder match? Will Shawn Michaels be able to keep Owens and Rhodes at bay for the contract signing? Who do you think has the better chance of winning between Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
