Preview & Predictions for WWE RAW:

On tap for today's episode, it is supposed to be a tie-in episode related to the finale of Netflix's Stranger Things, but since that's already a few days old and nothing at all has been advertised about HOW they plan on doing a tie-in, I would fully expect nothing to happen there except some graphics inspired by that show and more promotion about how if you haven't watched the finale yet, that you should. I personally liked it, but that's another discussion for another day. Even though I love this series, I find any "pointless other than to promote something" marketing, and I want to forewarn everyone that if they're expecting something cool not to get their hopes up.

At least on that front, I mean. But when it comes to the WWE elements of this show, we have three title matches scheduled to take place. Given WWE's track record of wanting to do title changes on the "first/last show of the year" episodes lately, I do think the odds are in the favor of at least one belt changing hands here.

Becky Lynch could very well beat Maxxine Dupri and win back the women's IC title. Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley definitely could beat The Kabuki Warriors for the women's tag titles. I do think it'll be one of those two, more so than Bron Breakker winning the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk, but I would rather Breakker win now than to fall into the same exact pattern WWE has been having for the past few years of this weird philosophy that everyone has to lose at least one title match before they can win a championship. Given how many times that's happened, I'm expecting Breakker to come up short and for WWE to think "it'll mean more when he wins it later" and "we've got time" and all.

Here are your results for WWE Monday Night Raw - January 5, 2026:

  • Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky defeated The Kabuki Warriors Asuka and Kairi Sane (c) by pinfall to win the titles!
  • Gunther went out to the ring for another "I beat John Cena" promo. AJ Styles interrupted and slapped him.
  • Women's Intercontinental Championship Match: Becky Lynch defeated Maxxine Dupri (c) by pinfall to win the title! Lynch cheated, holding on to the ropes for the pinfall.
  • The Usos came out for a promo in the audience, talking about how 2026 is going to be their year.
  • Stephanie Vaquer then cut a promo in the ring about how she has an ankle injury, but that isn't going to stop her from facing her competition, talking about how great 2025 was for her. Raquel Rodriguez then jumped her from behind and went after her injured leg.
  • Liv Morgan defeated Lyra Valkyria by pinfall.
  • World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk (c) defeated Bron Breakker by pinfall.
