Preview & Predictions for WWE Night of Champions 2025:
On tap for today's event, six matches are scheduled to take place. For a show that used to mean "every championship is defended and every match is for a title", that has unfortunately long been abandoned by WWE. Instead, only two titles are on the line.
One of those is Jacob Fatu defending the United States Championship against Solo Sikoa. It's entirely possible a title change happens, but I'm more so assuming Fatu retains and later drops it at SummerSlam to JC Mateo with Sikoa's help.
The other title match is John Cena against CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Sorry Punk fans, but he's absolutely not winning the title here. That is in part because the winner of the King of the Ring finals between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will fight for this belt at SummerSlam, and it's far easier to come back around to Cena/Rhodes than any other option. Of course, that means my prediction is that Orton will lose the King of the Ring finals in Saudi Arabia two years in a row.
As far as the Queen of the Ring finals between Asuka and Jade Cargill, that is harder to call. Cargill against Naomi for the WWE Women's Championship seems like a direction WWE is going, but Asuka versus Iyo Sky has also been teased. Then again, WWE could do both on the two-night SummerSlam, so you could really just flip a coin and the other who doesn't win might still challenge their brand's champion regardless. For now, though, I'll say Cargill.
Raquel Rodriguez will face Rhea Ripley in a street fight. Either WWE is so uncreative as to replicate exactly what happened on Monday Night Raw with Rodriguez coming out on top through some interference help from Roxanne Perez, or The Eradicator will simply win for the sake of it, as this is meaningless. Let's go with Ripley.
Lastly, Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn is a matter of whether or not there is still a story to tell between them. Kross winning helps propel a narrative, while Zayn winning ends it. However, WWE has (for some reason) liked having Kross look weak, just to laugh and say he had planned that all along as some sort of manipulation tactic, despite how it never goes anywhere for him. Watch that pattern continue, with him losing, only to claim it was somehow a victory.
