Tonight's episode of NXT for January 7, 2025 is the special WWE NEW YEAR'S EVIL edition coming live out of the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, broadcast through the CW network.

As not only the first NXT show of the year, but the annual New Year's Evil event, this is effectively a miniature pay-per-view, featuring several big time matches, as well as an appearance from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. On the card for tonight is Trick Williams putting up the NXT Championship against both Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe in a Triple Threat for the title, Roxanne Perez defending the NXT Women's Championship against NXT Deadline 2024's Women's Iron Survivor Challenge Match winner Giulia, a Fatal 4-Way to crown the No. 1 contender for the NXT Women's North American Championship between Cora Jade, Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan and Stephanie Vaquer, a Sudden Death contest for the NXT Heritage Cup between Lexis King and the NXT Superstar he defeated for the trophy, Charlie Dempsey (and we can expect Dempsey's father William Regal to be in the mix somewhere for this match) and a six-woman tag team match between Fatal Influence's Fallon Henley (Women's North American Champion), Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx against Tatum Paxley, and her newfound friends Shotzi Blackheart and Gigi Dolin. That is what has been advertised, but there will surely be more happening throughout the night that has yet to be revealed with other storylines and backstage segments.

This post will be updated frequently throughout the show with live coverage of all the match winners and any other highlights and noteworthy information that transpires, so be sure to keep refreshing and stay tuned for the most up-to-date information.

Here are your results for the January 7, 2025 edition of WWE NXT New Year's Evil:

  • NXT Women's Championship Match: Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez (c) by pinfall, winning the title!
  • Backstage, Eddy Thorpe was on the ground, being checked out by officials, claiming he had been attacked. NXT General Manager Ava wasn't convinced this was true.
  • Je'Von Evans spoke as well as he could about how Ethan Page's attack several weeks back has left him with his jaw wired shut.
  • NXT Women's North American Championship No. 1 Contender's Fatal 4-Way Match: Stephanie Vaquer defeated Cora Jade, Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice by pinfall over Jordan.
  • More backstage stuff with Ava as she told Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn (The Unholy Union) that since they beat Fatal Influence, they will face Meta-Four's Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson next week. The winners of that match will earn a title shot for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship and face Bianca Belair and Naomi in a future date not yet announced. Sarah Schreiber then came over to interview Ava and ask her about any updates on Eddy Thorpe. Ava said that the match is still on and she thinks Thorpe is faking it. Oba Femi then walked over to her to say that it doesn't matter whether or not Thorpe is in the match, as the result is going to end up the same regardless.
  • Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Tatum Paxley, Gigi Dolin and Shotzi Blackheart defeated Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx, & Jacy Jayne) by pinfall.
  • Backstage, The Rock interrupted Ethan Page talking to Ava about Je'Von Evans. The Rock told him he's heard a lot about Page (not all good) and that payback is going to be a bitch when Evans gets to him. If Page needs anything, he should come to The Rock, who is indeed The Final Boss, but when it comes to who is in charge in NXT, that means Ava is The Final Boss, and Page needs to be square with her if he wants to be cool with The Rock. The Rock said "I'll see you on the main roster one day", which Ava was happy about, as she's looking forward to when she doesn't have to deal with Page anymore. The Rock asked Ava for some advice about what to do tonight. Ava told him that even though nobody else has done all the things The Rock has done, he's still never been in front of an NXT crowd, and their passion is different, so he should go out and just feel it and speak from the heart.
  • NXT Heritage Cup Sudden Death Match: Lexis King (c) defeated Charlie Dempsey
  • NXT Championship Triple Threat Match: Oba Femi defeated Trick Williams (c) and Eddy Thorpe by pinfall on Williams to win the title!
  • The Rock ended the show with a promo about virtually nothing, essentially saying he was happy to be there in NXT and not much more else than that.
