Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo appears to be looking for a challenge. Will it be whoever sent him the mysterious box last week that had the symbol of "war" written on it?
Ricky Saints will be wrestling his last match in NXT, as he is set to move up to the SmackDown roster this coming Friday night. He'll be in action against Shiloh Hill to finish out their storyline that has been going on the past few weeks.
Lizzy Rain will make her debut. At the moment, her opponent has yet to be revealed, but it's doubtful she'll be having a losing effort on her first night.
Myles Borne is set to defend the NXT Men's North American Championship against Saquon Shugars, after previously retaining over fellow DarkState member Dion Lennox last week. I'd be extremely shocked if Shugars won the title, but stranger things have happened. Having Shugars win the belt Lennox is going after would certainly split DarkState. However, I think it's more likely Shugars will just lose due to some inadvertent actions from Lennox to compensate for last week's circumstances.
BirthRight is also in tag team action against E.K. Prosper and Dorian Van Dux. I think this all boils down to whether the mission is to put over Lexis King's faction or to set up someone as a challenger to his WWE Speed Championship. I'm banking more on the latter, with one of Prosper or Van Dux getting the next shot at the belt after scoring a pinfall over Stacks or Uriah Connors here.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - April 28, 2026:
- Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom advised NXT General Manager Robert Stone to roll with the punches with some new call-ups to the roster and the people who have left the brand for the main roster.
- Myles Borne retained the NXT North American Championship over Saquon Shugars by pinfall. Dion Lennox accidentally distracted Shugars when he was trying to help out by almost hitting Borne with a steel chair, which would have gotten Shugars disqualified. After the match, Tristan Angels came out through the crowd to announce that he's going to be on the roster going forward. Kam Hendrix then jumped Borne from behind as another new addition to the brand.
- Kelani Jordan got into an argument with Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair in the women's locker room, leading to Jordan challenging Sinclair to a non-title match for later.
- Tony D'Angelo was met in the ring by former NJPW star EVIL, who was not yet given a new ring name. EVIL gifted D'Angelo some cloth wrapped in twine that had another symbol on it. Tavion Heights then attacked D'Angelo, who was then also attacked by Will Kroos, who was not identified in any fashion.
- Shiloh Hill and Tatum Paxley chatted with each other on top of an empty grave made for Blake Monroe to symbolize Paxley moving on from that feud.
- BirthRight attacked Dorian Van Dux backstage. EK Prosper was then joined by Sean Legacy, returning from injury to go after them. Prosper and Legacy defeated Stacks and Uriah Connors by pinfall. Tate Wilder helped them fight off BirthRight after the match.
- Lola Vice called out Izzi Dame. Shawn Spears tried to distract Vice via the TitanTron to set up Dame and Niko Vance attacking her from behind, but Vice saw that coming and had backup in Mr. Iguana.
- Cutler James and Osiris Griffin were able to temporarily get Dion Lennox and Saquon Shugars to stop arguing and they plan on going after the NXT Tag Team Championship titles to get those back instead of the others failing at their singles title quests.
- Lizzy Rain made her debut against Nikkita Lyons, defeating her by pinfall.
- Shiloh Hill defeated Ricky Saints by pinfall.
