Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, there will be three more qualifying matches to determine the final three spots left in the upcoming ladder match to crown a new NXT champion. So far, Ricky Saints, Shiloh Hill, and "Super" Sean Legacy have qualified. Tonight, Joe Hendry fights WWE EVOLVE champion Jackson Drake, Keanu Carver faces Andre Chase, and Myles Borne and Dion Lennox duke it out for a spot. My money is on Hendry beating Drake, Carver absolutely demolishing Chase to win, and I'm assuming Borne will be either screwed out of this by Ethan Page to set up something between those two for the North American Championship, or that will end up happening later than this and Borne will get in this match, but ultimately not walk out with the title.
DarkState will also be defending the NXT Tag Team Championship against OTM. The Culling have already expressed their plans to let Bronco Nima and Lucien Price do the heavy lifting for them so they can pick on whichever weakened team has the titles. I'm anticipating Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars retain, by hook or by crook.
Jaida Parker is also booked to have a match against Nikkita Lyons. It's been a while since we've seen Parker in action, and Lyons has been relegated mostly to WWE EVOLVE for the past year, so don't expect to see Lyons getting the victory by any means unless Blake Monroe gets involved. But more than likely Parker wins and Monroe attacks her after the bell.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - January 27, 2026:
- Joe Hendry didn't come out for his entrance. Instead, he had been attacked by The Vanity Project, and Ava had to shuffle the lineup around.
- NXT Tag Team Championship Match: DarkState (Osiris Griffin & Saquon Shugars) retained over OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) by pinfall. Other tag teams then all started to brawl.
- Jaida Parker defeated Nikkita Lyons by pinfall. Monroe then appeared on the TitanTron to say that she would be seeing Parker very soon.
- Tavion Heights, Elio LeFleur, and Eli Knight bonded backstage. They were interrupted by Arianna Grace, Stacks, and Lexis King. He thinks himself and Grace have a birthright to NXT and that they deserve more opportunities. Tension starts to boil over and it cut to a commercial break.
- The Elegance Brand badmouthed ZaRuca and pointed out their in-fighting. Zaria was then in the locker room, failing to get in touch with Sol Ruca on the phone. Thea Hail came over to her to ask where Sol was and started trauma dumping about her own issues with the North American Championship, so Zaria got uppity and started arguing with her, saying she'll see her tonight.
- Ethan Page once again told Myles Borne that he has to do what is necessary to win, or Dion Lennox is going to beat him. Borne wasn't in the mood to placate to Page, nor Ricky Saints who came over to say he'd be watching the match.
- Since Joe Hendry isn't medically cleared, Ava has awarded the spot to Jackson Drake. However, if Hendry gets cleared before next week's match, he'll also be added into the ladder match.
- NXT Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Dion Lennox defeated Myles Borne by pinfall. Page was trying to convince Borne to hit Lennox with the North American title, which led to some confusion that Lennox capitalized on. Borne then hit Page with the belt instead.
- Tony D'Angelo was brought into Ava's office by security, while Ricky Saints was talking to Ava about how he wanted to cut a promo. After Saints left, D'Angelo asked Ava why she bailed him out. She admitted that NXT needs D'Angelo, who knows NXT better than anyone. Is he in or is he out? Tony says he'll let her and everyone know his intentions next week. This isn't the same Tony D'Angelo. Ava warns him not to interfere in the title match.
- Lexis King defeated Tavion Heights by pinfall.
-
Thea Hail defeated Zaria by pinfall. Tatum Paxley attacked Izzi Dame, which distracted Zaria, allowing Hail to get a roll-up. Fatal Influence's Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid came out and while Hail was ready to fight alongside Zaria, Zaria just dropped her instead, and Fatal Influence backed off.
-
Backstage, Charlie Dempsey was impressed by WrenQCC's match last week, up until they lost. Kendal Grey was lost in thought about how she can beat Jacy Jayne. Lexis King, Arianna Grace, and Stacks rolled up, wanting to talk to Dempsey about how he's one of them (as a second-generation star).
-
NXT Championship Ladder Match Qualifier: Keanu Carver defeated Andre Chase by pinfall. He then beat up Chase some more and sent a message about how he's going to win the title next week.
-
Watching this were the other competitors in the ladder match, who went out to the ring for a promo about how each one of them will win, only for Carver to be standing tall after the brawl.
