Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, the tag team titles are on the line as Hank and Tank defend against The Culling. I'm VERY suspicious of a title change happening here. I think not only is it time to transfer the belts to someone else, but giving these belts to The Culling allows for Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura (or better yet, Brooks Jensen) to win them in the future, and in the meantime, it will help boost stock to the idea that Izzi Dame could beat Sol Ruca at Great American Bash (which I don't think will happen).
Another match with title implications indirectly is Ricky Saints running the gauntlet against three of the members of The Vanity Project. The one who synched the victory for his team the last time on EVOLVE, Bryce Donovan, is missing from here. That means Saints will definitely get through Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, and Jackson Drake to earn a title shot opposite Ethan Pagef for Great American Bash.
If Tavion Heights beats Charlie Dempsey, he's out of No Quarter Catch Crew, just like Myles Borne was able to do. I think it is more interesting if Dempsey loses here, and I'm not sure there's an angle to come out of Heights losing and the status quo remaining, but it's not a done deal. I could very well see WWE just going with Dempsey winning because it's less predictable.
Joe Hendry and Mike Santana will beat The High Ryze. They're there to look strong heading into their title match against Trick Williams for TNA Slammiversary.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - July 8, 2025:
- Gauntlet Match: Ricky Saints defeated The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, then Ricky Smokes, then Jackson Drake) by pinfall for each. Saints then chose a Falls Count Anywhere match for his NXT North American Championship match against Ethan Page at Great American Bash.
- Backstage, Lainey Reid picked a fight with Zaria and Sol Ruca for no reason other than to call herself the future of the NXT women's division, which prompted Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice to call her out that she's yet to really do anything yet.
- Charlie Dempsey defeated Tavion Heights after Wren Sinclair threw in the towel to give up for Heights, who was locked into a submission but notably didn't tap out himself.
- Jasper Troy beat up Je'Von Evans backstage after Evans was hanging out with Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. Lexis King for some reason was just banging on a garage door before Troy had slammed Evans into it.
- Mike Santana & Joe Hendry defeated The High Ryze (Tyriek Igwe & Tyson DuPont) by pinfall.
- In a promo segment, Yoshiki Inamura ended up getting the better of Oba Femi.
- Kelani Jordan defeated Lainey Reid by pinfall. Thea Hail attacked Reid after the match.
- Jasper Troy attacked Je'Von Evans again backstage.
- A "final battle" triple threat will take place next week between Tony D'Angelo, Stacks, and Luca Crusifino, as planned by Adriana Rizzo.
- Jasper Troy grabbed a microphone and wants to be inserted into the NXT Championship match at Great American Bash. Je'Von Evans ran out to fight with him instead.
- NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Belly Boys (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) (c) defeated The Culling (Shawn Spears & Niko Vance) by pinfall.
- Ava announced that Tatum Paxley, Izzi Dame, Kelani Jordan, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, and Jaida Parker will be in the Evolution battle royal. A bunch of women then had a big brawl.
