Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's episode, Ethan Page and Tavion Heights will be in a flag match, with the NXT North American Championship not currently advertised to be on the line. That makes me assume Heights is winning this to further that feud and lead to a title shot that he fails in the future, probably at No Mercy.
Speaking of title shots, three teams are in a Triple Threat elimination tag team match as The Culling, ZaRuca, and Fatal Influence all fight to determine who gets a shot at th WWE Women's Tag Team Championship titles. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair currently own those, so I'm asusming Fatal Influence or The Culling will get the nod just to be a heel team against those babyfaces. Between those two, I'd lean more toward Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley because there's a better parallel between the tall blonde (Dame and Flair) against the tinier darker pixie character (Paxley and Bliss) but it's really a toss-up, as Fatal Influence are more experienced as a team.
Trick Williams is set to confront #DIY after Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa took him out last week. This will likely set up a match of sorts for NXT Homecoming next week at Full Sail University.
Je'Von Evans faces Josh Briggs to get some revenge for Briggs beating him up last week, and Lainey Reid should be facing AAA's Faby Apache in their first-round match of the tournament to determine who gets a shot at Sol Ruca's WWE Women's Speed Championship at No Mercy. I would lean on Apache winning that one.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - September 9, 2025:
- Josh Briggs defeated Je'Von Evans by pinfall.
- Ricky Saints and Oba Femi argued in Ava's office. Ava wants them to hash everything out on The Grayson Waller Effect. Trick Williams entered the room to ask Ava if she was okay with his confrontation of #DIY to come. He took a shot at Saints to say he wouldn't understand as this is champion business, and reminded Femi that he's not through with him yet.
- Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa had an in-ring promo with Trick Williams and the surprise guest of Carmelo Hayes. While Hayes put #DIY over as two who built the house that Trick claims is his, and himself as someone who "made renovations" to that house, he says Trick is actually squatting. But when Gargano and Ciampa pressed more for a tag team match at NXT Homecoming, it seems Trick Melo Gang are back aligned with each other.
- Blake Monroe had a video package where she spoke about how Jordynne Grace busted her open last week. She threatens that she'll see JG in Hell and has clearly kicked up her intensity an extra notch in this feud.
- NXT Tag Team Championship Match: DarkState (c) defeated Hank Walker & Tank Ledger by pinfall. Joe Hendry had came out to try to help The Belly Boys fight off the extra interference from DarkState members who weren't in the match, but the numbers game was still too much.
- NXT Anonymous showed footage of Ethan Page talking to Myles Borne last week about how he's running in place.
- In the locker room, Lexis King was gloating about beating Borne in their blindfold match to Charlie Dempsey, who said Borne doesn't have the privilege of taking his advice anymore. Borne then came into the room, shut off the lights, and assaulted King with a steel chair, as he's not done with him.
- Flag Match: Tavion Heights defeated Ethan Page. After the match, Tyler Breeze returned to pose over Page, who had the Canadian flag draped over him by Heights.
- The Culling (Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley) defeated ZaRuca (Sol Ruca & Zaria) and Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx) in their #1 Contenders' Triple Threat Elimination Tag Team Match.
- Jacy Jayne flipped out after the match, cutting a promo about how she's the greatest NXT women's champion ever. That was interrupted by Stephanie Vaquer, as well as Tiffany Stratton, and Rhea Ripley. We're getting a six-woman tag team match at NXT Homecoming next week!
