Following the release of her tag team partner, Shayna Baszler, it was unclear what WWE had planned for Zoey Stark.
Well, she returned as a singles star during Monday's RAW in a Money in the Bank Qualifier match, which saw her face Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane.
Unfortunately for Stark, when she attempted to hit a missile dropkick, she landed awkwardly and her knee gave out from under her, bending at an awkward, borderline grotesque angle.
The WWE Superstar was immediately rushed backstage and taken to the hospital, with the belief being that she's aggravated a previous knee injury (Stark tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus in 2021). This could be a career-ender, though we're still waiting on an update from Stark/WWE.
Now, new fan footage has surfaced, shedding additional light on what went wrong during the move. It appears Stark tried to slow down her momentum to avoid hurting Sane, only for her leg to give way when she landed on the mat.
You can take a closer look at the moment Stark was injured in the players below.
Several WWE Superstars and backstage producer Gregory Helms (a.k.a. The Hurricane) have responded to Stark's injury, sending their well-wishes and reminding us that professional wrestling can be "very real and dangerous."
