Ahead of tomorrow night's Night of Champions PLE, spoilers for the event have been revealed. Those kick off our latest WWE rumour roundup, but we also have updates on Chad Gable, WrestleMania 43, and the SmackDown tag team title picture.
Then, there's a major update on CM Punk's WWE future and whether there's any truth to reports that he's been butting heads with the company. Finally, in case you missed them, we have a full breakdown of everything that's scheduled for tonight's pre-taped SmackDown.
Check out our latest WWE rumor roundup below, and stay tuned for more on all these developing stories...
- According to @WrestleVotes, there will be no title changes at Night of Champions tomorrow night. Cody Rhodes is expected to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship over Gunther and Sami Zayn, while United States Champion Tiffany Stratton and United States Champion Trick Williams are likely coming home with their belts, as well. As for the King and Queen of the Ring, "plans remain quiet" with the former, but Iyo Sky is expected to defeat Liv Morgan when the latter tournament concludes. Finally, "multiple finishes" are on the table for Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker's Steel Cage match.
- The RAW before WrestleMania 43—which is being held in Saudi Arabia, remember—is expected to take place in London, England, next year.
- The Wrestling Observer has heard that WWE is banking on Chad Gable's new theme song taking off with fans and becoming one that they sing to, similar to Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes.
- While current WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and R-Turth are "beloved backstage," there is "a growing frustration over a lack of variety and competitiveness among the SmackDown tag title scene," reveals WRKD Wrestling.
- Dave Meltzer has shared an update on the CM Punk situation. He's been absent from WWE programming since the RAW after WrestleMania, and rumours have swirled that he might be on the outs with the company. He explained, "His departure was basically to get him ready for moving to SmackDown and eventually a program with Rhodes, but to say there are no issues at all, that wouldn’t be correct. It’s not as bad as some have made it out to be, but it’s not like there aren’t any issues at all."
