WrestleMania 42 has been and gone, but we're still learning more about what WWE originally had planned for the Showcase of the Immortals heading into this past weekend.
As well as updates on The Bella Twins and Cody Rhodes' clash with Randy Orton, we have news on what's next for Roman Reigns, problems for WWE talent in Las Vegas, and the latest on Liv Morgan's entrance theme change.
Check out our latest WWE rumor roundup below, but be warned that potential spoilers follow from this point on.
- WWE is planning a Roman Reigns vs. Gunther feud, according to the Wrestling Observer. As of now, the match seems to be the tentative plan for this August's SummerSlam.
- There are conflicting reports about when WWE decided to scrap the idea of Randy Orton defeating Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42. There's now some chatter that it happened on the morning of the show.
- Dave Meltzer has said that it was always the plan for The Bella Twins to win the Women's Tag Team Championships on the Grandest Stage of Them All. When Nikki was injured, WWE stuck to the plan, even with Paige taking her place.
- BodySlam+ notes that Paige's WWE deal is a multi-year one.
- Fightful Select has learned that "The Demon" Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio became a Street Fight because there were already several normal singles matches on the card.
- Bodyslam+ is reporting that the original plan for Liv Morgan's new entrance theme was to use Reneé Rapp's "Leave me Alone." Ultimately, the decision was made for Morgan to record "Trouble."
- The supposed reason for Morgan's match with Stephanie Vaquer being so short at WrestleMania 42 is that both women were "banged up" heading into the PLE, and WWE didn't want to risk either being injured.
- TMZ recently shared footage of CM Punk slapping a fan's phone from their hand while they were attempting to record a personal moment between AJ Lee and Bayley in the MGM Grand lobby. According to Andrew Baydala, things were "really bad" between talent and fans at the hotel because "Those men and women were bombarded daily, and it was VERY uncomfortable." PW Insider has backed that up by saying there were complaints about poor security from wrestlers all weekend.
- The same site has learned that World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu will headline Backlash next month.
- While Pat McAfee has seemingly stepped away from WWE after WrestleMania 42, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley said on Busted Open that he's heard "the boys in the locker room" all "hate" WWE's decision to insert him into Rhodes' feud with Orton.
