Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (January 24, 2025) emanates out of the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. It'll be the go-home show heading into WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, so any last-minute adjustments to that card as well as all the follow-up from last week's episode should be expected.

This post here will be updated frequently throughout the night to reflect live coverage of Friday Night SmackDown, including all the match results, rundowns of the promos, and any other interesting or noteworthy things that take place. Keep refreshing for updates to find out all the winners and more!

In the meantime, what's on tap for this episode?

LA Knight will face Tama Tonga to piggyback off last week's brawling segment, wherein Knight and Braun Strowman fought off Tonga and Jacob Fatu. Strowman and Fatu will face off at Saturday Night's Main Event, but can be expected to be ringside for this segment in some fashion. Whether or not we'll hear from Solo Sikoa remains unknown, as he was scheduled to talk last week, only to not say a word and just leave.

The only other match currently announced is a tag team bout between Motor City Machine Guns and Pretty Deadly. Over the past few weeks, Pretty Deadly have been doing the dirty work of #DIY, but ultimately failing Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa in every which way. As Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin head toward a rematch for the WWE Tag Team Championships, it should be expected they'll be victorious here, but with tension in the tag team division (and Apollo Crews sticking his nose in the tag team champions' business), don't be surprised if people like Los Garza or The Street Profits somehow get involved here as well.

With 3 hours to pack, there will undoubtedly be more on the show than just these two matches. Michin and B-Fab's feud with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven should continue, as well as more from Tiffany Stratton, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, and who knows what else? Let's find out starting at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network!

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown on January 24, 2025:

  • Joe Tessitore opened the show with an interview with Cody Rhodes, who spoke about his upcoming match against Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble.
  • Backstage, #DIY spoke to Pretty Deadly about their working relationship. Then, Kit Wilson and Elton Prince bumped into Legado del Fantasma.
  • Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) defeated Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) by pinfall.
  • Backstage, The Miz met with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who informed him that he is now part of the SmackDown roster via the transfer window.
  • Kevin Owens came to the ring to cut a promo, upset about Joe Tessitore interviewing just Cody Rhodes and not himself as well. He confronted Matthew McConaughey, who was ringside, until Jimmy Uso came out to shut Owens up, leading to a match later on. Later, backstage, Carmelo Hayes was upset with Aldis for changing the scheduled match (as he was supposed to face Jimmy Uso). Aldis said he moved that match to next week, and instead, booked Hayes against his other newest acquisition, which turned out to be Damian Priest.
  • Michin and B-Fab defeated Chelsea Green and Piper Niven by pinfall.
  • Promo: Tiffany Stratton spoke about how the Royal Rumble winner will end up challenging her, which prompted Rhea Ripley to come out. They were interrupted by a series of wrestlers who all declared themselves for the Royal Rumble (Nia Jax with Candice LeRae, then Bianca Belair and Naomi, then Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez), leading to an impromptu six-woman tag team match.
  • Liv Morgan, Nia Jax and Candice LeRae defeated Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair and Naomi by pinfall
  • Backstage, B-Fab and Michin confronted Chelsea Green and Piper Niven about how next week, Michin has another title shot against Green for the Women's United States Championship. Green and Niven now feel like they need a bigger security detail.
  • Apollo Crews defeated Johnny Gargano by pinfall with a roll-up.
  • LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall. After the match, Jacob Fatu gave LA Knight a Samoan Drop through the commentary table. Braun Strowman came out to fight them off.
  • The Miz was backstage with A-Town Down Under, who are being traded to the Raw roster.
  • Damian Priest defeated Carmelo Hayes by pinfall.
  • Backstage, The Motor City Machine Guns announced they have a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the tag titles against #DIY at Royal Rumble.
  • The Miz failed to make friends backstage with Andrade and Carmelo Hayes jumped Jimmy Uso before he could make his entrance for his match against Kevin Owens. After that, Kevin Owens defeated Jimmy Uso by pinfall. Owens then brawled with Cody Rhodes to end the show.
