Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:
On tap for today's episode, Rey Fenix is set to have his debut match in WWE. So far, nobody has been announced as his opponent, but it's speculated it could be Andrade after a conversation he had with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about working with new talent. It's highly doubtful Fenix comes up short in his match, as it would be odd for him to debut and lose.
B-Fab is up against Naomi, after what transpired last week where B-Fab and Michin had Jade Cargill's back and denounced Naomi's actions, leading to Naomi attacking both of them and sending B-Fab to get medical attention. Poor B-Fab is definitely losing another match here.
The only other thing confirmed at this moment is a Last Man Standing match between Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman. Given Fatu's overall ability to be more dominant throughout this feud and his tenacity that only grows week to week, he's the smart pick. However, there's always a chance Solo Sikoa botches something and costs Fatu the match to help further along their storyline.
Hopefully, we'll have a positive update on the rumors that Kevin Owens is dealing with an injury, and we're likely to see more about Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton, too. Don't be surprised if the tag team division continues to implode and reaches a point where Aldis makes a multi-team match for WrestleMania. As this is taking place in Chicago, you can bet CM Punk will be there, so maybe there will also be some clarification about the favor Paul Heyman owes him and more hype for The Second City Savior's match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41.
Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - April 4, 2025:
- CM Punk kicked off the show with a promo thanking everyone for their support over the years and discussing his upcoming WrestleMania main event. Paul Heyman came out to share a moment with him, but to also ultimately ask what the favor is that Punk will call in for. Punk says he'll tell him later when Roman Reigns arrives.
- Rey Fenix defeated Nathan Frazer by pinfall. After the match, Fenix cut a quick promo about how he's waited his whole life to say he's in WWE and that he's been reborn. Then, Santos Escobar was telling Angel and Berto backstage that that's the type of passion he wants to see from them, which upset Berto, who thinks he's better than Fenix and will seemingly get a chance to prove it next week.
- Vignette: Drew McIntyre talked about Damian Priest slamming him onto a car last week and is looking for revenge against The Archer of Infamy.
- Backstage, Braun Strowman hyped up how he's going to beat Jacob Fatu and go on to win the United States title at WrestleMania to become a Grand Slam Champion. Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga came over to gloat about how he's going to lose and LA Knight backed up Strowman.
- LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga by pinfall.
- Backstage, Seth Rollins arrives and says he'll be out there later for the announcement of the favor, too.
- Promo: Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton talked trash to each other in a rough promo.
- Nick Aldis announces a gauntlet match to determine the No. 1 contenders for the women's tag titles, which will happen on next week's SmackDown.
- WWE Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's Match: Motor City Machine Guns defeated #DIY by pinfall.
- Backstage, Pretty Deadly and Melo Don't Miz got into it, seemingly setting up a match possibly for next week.
- Naomi defeated B-Fab by pinfall. Jade Cargill attacked Naomi both before and after the match until officials intervened both times. Nick Aldis then announced that Cargill and Naomi will face each other at WrestleMania.
- Damian Priest responded to Drew McIntyre's vignette, challenging him to a face-to-face in the middle of the ring next week.
- Promo: Kevin Owens said that he is not going to be able to compete at WrestleMania because he needs to undergo neck surgery, so he's disappointed and doesn't know if or when he'll be back in the ring. Randy Orton comes out and Nick Aldis tells him that this means he no longer has a match at WrestleMania, so Orton gives him an RKO!
- United States Championship No. 1 Contender's Match Last Man Standing Match: Jacob Fatu defeated Braun Strowman and earns a title shot at WrestleMania
- Video Package: Cody Rhodes and John Cena
- Promo: Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman ended the show with an in-ring talking segment. The big takeaway is that the favor is that Punk wants Heyman to be in his corner instead of Roman's.
