Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (August 1, 2025) emanates out of the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will air at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

This post here will be updated frequently throughout the night to reflect live coverage of Friday Night SmackDown, including all the match results, rundowns of the promos, and any other interesting or noteworthy things that take place. Keep refreshing for updates to find out all the winners and more!

Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:

On tap for today's episode, Cody Rhodes and John Cena will be in the house to have another promo segment to remind everyone (as if anyone forgot) that they will fight on Sunday at WWE SummerSlam. It will be the typical setup as everything else, where they will repeat a lot of the same things that they've been saying for weeks, and someone will get the physical edge over the other person to stand tall over them and indicate "I'm going to win."

Damian Priest and Aleister Black will face off, as their feud has been simmering the past few weeks all sparked from R-Truth interfering in Black's segments. Ron Killings has been MIA for a bit, and it's been Priest fighting Black and Carmelo Hayes. Ideally, Truth will come back here in some fashion, even if it's just to help Priest from a post-match beating or something. I expect Black to win, but it could go either way.

Jimmy Uso will face Talla Tonga. I fully expect some shenanigans. This is either a no-contest, a disqualification, or Tonga wins, but it will ultimately break down into including Solo Sikoa, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and of course on the opposite side of things, Jacob Fatu. Don't forget about that steel cage match for the United States title at SummerSlam, essentially!

And then, the Women's United States Championship will be on the line. Giulia, accompanied by her new manager Kiana James, will certainly retain over Zelina Vega.

All that and more will go down tonight, so keep checking and refreshing for the most up-to-date results!

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - August 1, 2025:

  • Cody Rhodes and John Cena were in the ring for a promo, where Cena thanked Rhodes for kicking some sense into him and admitted that he doesn't want to ruin wrestling. He wants to take the title with him when he retires so that people don't forget about him. Rhodes welcomed back the return of babyface John Cena, and they shared a beer together. [This was awkward, as it is suspicious, yet nothing happened, which is obviously either their intention to subvert expectations or just a very weird way to go about an actual babyface turn.]
  • Women's United States Championship Match: Giulia (c) defeated Zelina Vega by pinfall.
  • Legado del Fantasma put out an open challenge for their AAA World Tag Team Championship titles. Mr. Iguana and Psycho Clown answered the challenge, but Los Garza retained by pinfall.
  • Damian Priest defeated Aleister Black by disqualification after Black used a steel chair.
  • Talla Tonga defeated Jimmy Uso by pinfall. After the match, Solo Sikoa called for the cage to be lowered and was going to keep the beatdown going on Jimmy Uso, but Jacob Fatu ran down just in time to get into the cage. Sikoa and Talla Tonga escaped the cage while JC Mateo and Tonga Loa fought with Fatu, who took them both out.
  • Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul cut a promo in the ring about Randy Orton and Jelly Roll. Those two came out and a fight broke out, with Orton and Roll standing tall in the ring.
