Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (August 8, 2025) emanates out of the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada and will air at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

This post here will be updated frequently throughout the night to reflect live coverage of Friday Night SmackDown, including all the match results, rundowns of the promos, and any other interesting or noteworthy things that take place. Keep refreshing for updates to find out all the winners and more!

Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:

On tap for today's episode, this is very much like Monday Night Raw where WWE is just banking on everyone wanting to see the follow-up of SummerSlam rather than promoting specific things for this show in advance. Essentially, "don't you want to hear about Brock Lesnar appearing and attacking John Cena? Oh, and I guess there's some other stuff for the rest of those two hours. But Cody Rhodes will be there!"

As such, Cena's opening the show with a promo, so there goes for the first 20 minutes of the program. Maybe The Beast Incarnate shows up (despite all the allegations) and maybe he doesn't. I'd assume The American Nightmare's promo will start to move him onto a different feud for the Undisputed WWE Championship and not be related, but there may even be more crossover between Rhodes, Cena, and Lesnar tonight, too.

The Motor City Machine Guns are advertised to be facing Talla Tonga and JC Mateo. My bet is on the MFTs coming out on top, as Tonga has been protected lately and alongside Mateo, they're the two bigger guys.

I'd anticipate that we're going to see more with Giulia and Kiana James following Giulia's retention of the Women's United States Championship, as well as more with the feud between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. It's also strange that Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill haven'et been announced for anything, but then again, their feud leading into SummerSlam and the way that match went down all seemed to be swept under the rug, so maybe WWE really has had nothing for them in mind for 2 months and that might continue again tonight.

All that and more will go down tonight, so keep checking and refreshing for the most up-to-date results!

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - August 8, 2025:

  • John Cena opened the show with a promo about how he's afraid that the WWE Universe will forget about him, and he doesn't want to let everyone down. He's also afraid of Brock Lesnar, but if Lesnar is asking for a fight, he's not going to back down. Logan Paul interrupted and opened up an opportunity for Drew McIntyre to attack Cena from behind. Cody Rhodes made the save and we've got a tag team match booked for later.
  • MFT (Talla Tonga and JC Mateo) defeated The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) by pinfall. After the match, Solo Sikoa cut a promo on the audience and not wanting to wrestle there. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis interrupted to introduce Sami Zayn.
  • Sami Zayn defeated Solo Sikoa by pinfall.
  • A Wyatt Sicks vignette aired that was basically a generic "we're just getting started" threat to the roster. The Street Profits and #DIY argued backstage in response to that, leading to Nick Aldis announcing a match between the two teams for next week.
  • Elsewhere backstage, The Miz lied to Carmelo Hayes about speaking to Aldis about getting them a tag team match for next week. Melo was upset with The Miz for disappearing for two months and was hoping to talk to Aldis about a United States title match.
  • Charlotte Flair presented Alexa Bliss with a birthday cake (which was a repurposed "congratulations Charlotte" cake for winning the tag titles) along with another doll of "Charlie" to be Lily the puppet's tag team partner, complete with both having the "we're not friends" shirts. Chelsea Green and The Secret Hervice interrupted, which led to a match where Flair beat Green by submission.
  • In another backstage segment, Jade Cargill interrupted Tiffany Stratton's interview to say that if they had another match, she'd win this time. Stratton disagreed and left. Giulia and Kiana James then approached Cargill and gave her Kiana's business card, which Michin was happy to take as she thinks it can lead to her getting a shot at the Women's United States Championship.
  • Aleister Black had a vignette explaining that Damian Priest has a hairline fracture.
  • R-Truth and John Cena buried the hatchet backstage, with Cena pretending that Ron Killings was the one who was acting weird the past few months.
  • John Cena & Cody Rhodes beat Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre by disqualification due to a low blow from Paul. McIntyre then Claymore kicked Rhodes through the commentary table.
