Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (January 31, 2025) emanates out of the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. It'll be the go-home show heading into WWE Royal Rumble 2025, so it's the last chance for WWE Superstars to declare themselves for entry as well as to make an impression and pick up some momentum heading into the big gauntlet matches.

On tap for tonight's episode, the partnership between WWE Tag Team Champions #DIY and Pretty Deadly has been a rocky one, but they'll be teaming up officially in an eight-man tag team match against their two rival teams as of late with Los Garza of Legado del Fantasma teaming up with the No. 1 contenders who will face Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano at Royal Rumble, The Motor City Machine Guns. I think it's most likely we'll see MCMG come out on top by pinning someone in Pretty Deadly, but if the heels squeak out a victory by pinning Angel or Berto, that wouldn't shock me, either.
Naomi will be in action against Liv Morgan to help further along that feud toward Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez getting an official tag team title opportunity, after they beat Naomi and Bianca Belair on Raw.
Jimmy Uso and Carmelo Hayes will face off in the match they should've had last week, had it not be shuffled around with other wrestlers. This one's a toss-up, so flip a coin.
Finally, Michin will get a shot at winning the Women's United States Championship as she attempts to settle the 1-1 score between herself and Chelsea Green following their dumpster match and their bout at Saturday Night's Main Event. Betting on Michin is the fool's choice, as it's doubtful Green will drop the title so soon.

- The show opened with some heavy promotion of Indianapolis with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee. Then, Joe Tessitore interviewed Kevin Owens in the ring about the ladder match coming up tomorrow night for the WWE title. Owens was upset about how Tessitore didn't give him the interview last week. CM Punk interrupted to talk about how if Owens wins the title tomorrow, he's going to beat him at WrestleMania, since he's going to win the Royal Rumble. Owens is open to the idea of beating Punk at Mania, but he thinks it would be better if Punk just never gets to main event WrestleMania.
- Backstage, The Miz was upset while talking to Nick Aldis and stuck his foot in his mouth about Andrade, leading to a match for later.
- Jimmy Uso defeated Carmelo Hayes by pinfall.
- Women’s United States Championship Match: Michin defeated Chelsea Green (c) by disqualification after Green used a kendo stick on Michin.
- Backstage, Bianca Belair and Naomi spoke about how one of them is going to win the Royal Rumble.
- Damian Priest cut a promo in the ring about moving to the SmackDown roster. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga interrupted, with Fatu saying he's off the leash now. This led to a fight, wherein Priest was backed up by LA Knight.
- Backstage, MCMG and Legado del Fantasma talked about how they don't like each other, but they'll have each others' backs in their tag team match.
- Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) & Los Garza (Angel and Berto) defeated #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) & Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) by pinfall.
