On tap for tonight's episode, WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and R-Truth face AAA World Tag Team Champions War Raiders in a Title vs Title Match, while Giulia takes on Lash Legend in the final qualifying match for the Interim WWE Women's Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam.
It's a curious situation what is happening right now with the tag team titles. WWE released several tag teams and after a few months of just sitting around with nothing in mind, they've killed time far past the point of needing to actually do something with these belts, and instead of just having more tag teams moved over to SmackDown, their answer was to put the AAA tag team titles up for grabs as well and spread out those champions even more? Is there so little faith in the tag team division that they can't do anything with these belts and they think that having a double champion scenario means they'll get some leeway to not have to book them too often? With as much in-fighting as Damian Priest has had as of late with R-Truth, I smell a heel turn coming soon, so I think we're looking at War Raiders walking away with both sets of titles.
Giulia and Lash Legend in the qualifying match is interesting because if Legend wins after Nia Jax had two attempts to qualify and failed, will that result in a rift between them? Is WWE putting Lash in there to be the strength of the match, or is that unnecessary when Jade Cargill is already in it? I'm leaning toward Giulia, but it ultimately comes down to how neither of them will win the title, so whoever qualifies is going to lose at SummerSlam regardless.
