WWE SMACKDOWN Results (July 31, 2026): WWE/AAA Tag Team Title vs Title Match, Giulia vs Lash Legend & More

Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (Friday, July 31, 2026) emanates from Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin and will air starting at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

On tap for tonight's episode, WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and R-Truth face AAA World Tag Team Champions War Raiders in a Title vs Title Match, while Giulia takes on Lash Legend in the final qualifying match for the Interim WWE Women's Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam.

It's a curious situation what is happening right now with the tag team titles. WWE released several tag teams and after a few months of just sitting around with nothing in mind, they've killed time far past the point of needing to actually do something with these belts, and instead of just having more tag teams moved over to SmackDown, their answer was to put the AAA tag team titles up for grabs as well and spread out those champions even more? Is there so little faith in the tag team division that they can't do anything with these belts and they think that having a double champion scenario means they'll get some leeway to not have to book them too often? With as much in-fighting as Damian Priest has had as of late with R-Truth, I smell a heel turn coming soon, so I think we're looking at War Raiders walking away with both sets of titles.

Giulia and Lash Legend in the qualifying match is interesting because if Legend wins after Nia Jax had two attempts to qualify and failed, will that result in a rift between them? Is WWE putting Lash in there to be the strength of the match, or is that unnecessary when Jade Cargill is already in it? I'm leaning toward Giulia, but it ultimately comes down to how neither of them will win the title, so whoever qualifies is going to lose at SummerSlam regardless.

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - July 31, 2026:

• Finn Balor opened the broadcast by looking back on winning the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2016 and spending the following decade attempting to return to that level. Sami Zayn interrupted and argued that he should be part of the WWE Championship match at SummerSlam. Gunther attacked both men, but Nick Aldis joined the fight and applied the Texas Cloverleaf. Gunther broke free while security intervened and kicked Aldis in the face.
• Michin and B-Fab defeated Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green after hitting the BTA on Green. Jade Cargill attacked Stratton while the referee was distracted, allowing the opposing team to isolate Green. Stratton and Green continued fighting Michin and B-Fab after the bell as Charlotte Flair confronted Cargill and knocked her from the ring.
• Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh encountered Rey Fenix, Axiom and Nathan Frazer backstage while searching for Danhausen. Mysterio suggested that McDonagh should take the AAA Cruiserweight Championship, leading Fenix to accept a title defense later in the evening.
• Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga agreed that they needed to stop fighting other people's battles and focus on their own family. Haku then appeared and instructed his sons to remind everyone why they should be feared.
• The title-for-title match between WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and R-Truth and AAA World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders ended in a no-contest. The referee stopped the bout after both teams shoved him during an uncontrollable fight. Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga later attacked Priest, Truth, Erik and Ivar before standing in the ring with Haku.
• Footage aired of tension between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes at a recent live event. Punk said he would put competition ahead of friendship when defending the Undisputed WWE Championship. Trick Williams then confronted Punk and expressed his intention to challenge for the title eventually, prompting Punk to say he welcomed new challengers and would defeat Williams when the opportunity arrived.
• A video package covered Nick Aldis' wrestling career and his eventual transition into becoming the general manager of SmackDown. Aldis explained that he had accepted the end of his in-ring career until Gunther forced him to reconsider.
• United States Champion Trick Williams called Baron Corbin to the ring for their final confrontation before SummerSlam. Corbin said Williams' impatience would cost him and promised to choke him unconscious before taking the championship. Williams predicted that the SummerSlam crowd would instead be chanting "Whoop That Trick."
• A video package previewed the Hell in a Cell match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
• AAA Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fenix retained against JD McDonagh after connecting with the Mexican Muscle Buster. Dominik Mysterio interfered on McDonagh's behalf until the referee removed him from ringside. Danhausen and the Minihausens then attacked Mysterio and chased him backstage.
• A video package focused on the World Heavyweight Championship match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
• Lash Legend defeated Giulia with the Lash Extension to secure the final available position in the Interim WWE Women's Championship ladder match. Legend advanced to face Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green at SummerSlam.
• CM Punk interrupted Cody Rhodes before Rhodes could complete his entrance for their scheduled face-to-face segment. Their discussion about friendship, competition and the Undisputed WWE Championship became physical after Punk invited Rhodes to strike first. The two fought around ringside and on the commentary table as officials repeatedly struggled to keep them apart.
