Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:
On tap for today's episode, John Cena will be in action against Ron Killings. It is another non-title match that WWE clearly hadn't been planning on their schedule after they had released R-Truth and hired him back a few days later. Hitting the rewind button and giving them a rematch out of their Saturday Night's Main Event match is interesting, as it means they'll either redo the same result and felt the need to copy and paste, or there's something else in mind. Cena already took a loss recently, but the plan could very well be for Cody Rhodes to get involved again and cost Cena, even if it's by count out or something "cheap" like that.
There will also be two of the four semifinals matches in the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. Randy Orton will face Sami Zayn, whiel Alexa Bliss will battle Asuka. As far as my predictions go, I feel more confident in Asuka beating Bliss and Zayn beating Orton, even if neither go on to win the whole tournament. We won't know that until the other finalists are determined, which will take place on Monday Night Raw, but I'd expect Charlotte Flair to potentially cost Bliss her match. If Orton wins, I think that's to set up a match against Rhodes in Saudi Arabia to give them something that is very WrestleMania-worthy, but I still can't ignore my gut feeling about Jey Uso beating Rhodes and going up against Zayn as the alternative.
Trish Stratus is supposed to appear, apparently, and Zelina Vega has already said last week that she wants to confront Giulia, so that should also take place.
All that and more will go down tonight, so keep checking and refreshing for the most up-to-date results!
Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - June 20, 2025:
- LA Knight opened the show with a promo, calling out Seth Rollins, but getting Paul Heyman instead. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed then attacked Knight, who leveled the field with a steel chair, setting up a match for later.
- Queen of the Ring Semifinals Match: Asuka defeated Alexa Bliss by pinfall.
- Backstage, B-Fab, Jade Cargill, and Michin were watching the match and were impressed by Asuka. Michin and B-Fab left to go talk to Nick Aldis about the women's tag team titles. Byron Saxton then interviewed Cargill about the tournament. Cargill says this isn't a proving ground for Roxanne Perez, whereas she was built for a throne.
- After the commercial break, backstage, The Green Regime tried to belittle Bliss. Charlotte Flair came over to stand up for her and spark a challenge for later. Bliss then told Flair she doesn't need her help.
- Aleister Black vs Kit Wilson didn't get started as R-Truth attacked Wilson before the bell. This upset Black, and in a backstage segment, he approached R-Truth to ask why he's getting involved in his matches. Damian Priest told Black to chill out while he talked to R-Truth, telling him to focus his anger on Cena and they can go celebrate downtown, reminding him that he's the guy who makes people smile.
- Cody Rhodes came out to the ring for a promo, which included Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton. Everyone expressed how they love and respect one another, but that they all plan on winning King of the Ring.
- King of the Ring Semifinals Match: Randy Orton defeated Sami Zayn by pinfall.
- Nia Jax cut a promo, interrupted by Tiffany Stratton, who revealed they'll have a title match next week. Naomi tried to cash in Money in the Bank after Jax laid out Stratton, only for Jax to again block her from doing that.
- Charlotte Flair defeated Chelsea Green by submission. Alexa Bliss made the save after the match, but Flair just walked away from her instead of thanking her for the help.
- Solo Sikoa cut a promo in the ring.
- TBD - Trish Stratus appearance
- TBD - Zelina Vega confronts Giulia
- TBD - John Cena vs Ron "The Truth" Killings
- TBD - Bronson Reed vs LA Knight
