Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:
On tap for today's episode, three championships will be on the line, even though Night of Champions is tomorrow. The Street Profits will defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy of The Wyatt Sicks, Zelina Vega puts her Women's United States Championship on the line against Giulia, and Tiffany Stratton will have her work cut out for her as she fights Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing match for the WWE Women's Championship.
I suspect all three titles are going to change hands, though I think Stratton is losing to Naomi, rather than Jax. Having this be a Last Woman Standing match stands out as suspiciously perfect to allow Stratton to retain and incapacitate Jax, who has been stopping Naomi from cashing in her Money in the Bank contract lately, only for Naomi to be able to capitalize on a beaten down and exhausted Tiffany.
Vega, at the very least, is absolutely losing her title. The Beautiful Madness has been eyeing that belt since joining the blue brand, and WWE Creative has done nothing to show that they care about Vega's title reign. They seem like they're just waiting to take the belt off her as a transitional reign.
The Wyatt Sicks have been positioned as so strong, too, that it's hard to imagine they're not going to win the tag titles to allow for more challengers in that division to step up. It's an easier program than keeping it on The Street Profits and running through the same tag teams again as contenders.
All that and more will go down tonight, so keep checking and refreshing for the most up-to-date results!
Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - June 27, 2025:
- Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton opened the show with a promo, which wasn't seen by anyone on the international feed as the first 40 minutes of this broadcast were cut off with technical difficulties. The feed was restored after this promo was no longer still ongoing. It remains to be seen if WWE is able to air this later on tonight or will release it on YouTube.
- JC Mateo defeated Jimmy Uso by pinfall
- Backstage, #DIY failed to rile up the tag team division and ended up just getting themselves unwillingly booked in a tag team match for later.
- Giulia defeated Zelina Vega (c) by pinfall to win the Women's United States Championship
- Backstage, Charlotte Flair told Alexa Bliss that she doesn't want to be her friend. Bliss told her it's better for them to be on the same page and that she wasn't helping her out to try to be her friend.
- A promo between Asuka and Jade Cargill revolved around their Queen of the Ring final tomorrow. Naomi interrupted, saying it doesn't matter who wins, as she'll use her Money in the Bank briefcase to become champion in some fashion. Jade pushed Asuka out of the way to go after Naomi, so Asuka eventually took out Cargill.
- Backstage, R-Truth interrupted Aleister Black (who was trying to talk to Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce) to say he wants John Cena.
- Andrade and Rey Fenix defeated #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) by pinfall.
- R-Truth went to the ring for a promo, but he ended up falling victim to a Black Mass, as Aleister Black is tired of R-Truth getting involved in his business. Later, Damian Priest told Aleister Black that if he has an issue with Ron Killings, he should approach him face-to-face instead. Carmelo Hayes butted into the conversation to say Priest should mind his own business and Priest told him to leave, right now.
- WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford (c) vs The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) ended in a no-contest as other tag teams all got involved, erupting into chaos.
- Backstage, Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso talked for a moment about how they're now aligned.
- Last Woman Standing Match for the WWE Women's Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) retained over Nia Jax
- John Cena was in the ring for a quick promo about how he's a winner and Punk is a loser. CM Punk then came out and did a parody of Cena's Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick as some payback for Cena doing the pipe bomb last week.
