Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:
On tap for today's episode, The Street Profits put their WWE Tag Team Championship titles on the line against Fraxiom. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford seemed rather intimidated last week when making that announcement, as Axiom and Nathan Frazer have been on a roll since joining the blue brand's roster, quickly speed-running through the division and beating all of their opponents like Los Garza and most recently, #DIY. It wouldn't be shocking if Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa get involved, and The Motor City Machine Guns could always show up as well. This division is lively. I don't expect the titles to change hands in any case.
Two more spots for the Money in the Bank ladder matches will be settled in two more Triple Threat qualifier matches. The newest acquisition to the roster, Giulia, will face Charlotte Flair and the Women's United States Champion Zelina Vega. I think Vega takes the pin and Giulia wins, while Flair gets distracted by Alexa Bliss to further that story, and I can see Chelsea Green costing Vega. On the men's side, Aleister Black, Shinsuke Nakamura, and LA Knight battle it out. Knight just wrestled JC Mateo, so if there's any interference, it should be on that front or with Carmelo Hayes and The Miz trying to cost Black. However, I think Nakamura is not at all going to win, and he's there to take the pin instead. Whether it's Black or Knight is anyone's guess, though.
All that and more will go down tonight, so keep checking and refreshing for the most up-to-date results!
Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - May 23, 2025:
- Promo: Tiffany Stratton mentioned how last year, she won Money in the Bank and warned the eventual winner not to try to cash in on her. Alexa Bliss came out to do the usual "I'm going to win and then, win the title" deal. Charlotte Flair was next out to do the same about how when she wants something, she just takes it, and MITB is the only thing she hasn't done. Stratton calls them both "too vintage" for her. They're the standard, but she's the upgrade. She walked off, but was met at the ramp by Giulia coming out for her match.
- Triple Threat Women's Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Giulia defeated Charlotte Flair and Zelina Vega by pinfall on Vega.
- Backstage, The Green Regime made fun of Zelina Vega for being a loser in her match. This turned into a fight where Vega was backed up by Michin and B-Fab, setting up those two against Piper Niven and Alba Fyre.
- Tommaso Ciampa defeated Chris Sabin by pinfall with a little help from a returning Candice LeRae's interference.
- Video Package: John Cena's heel turn was recapped and his match with R-Truth was hyped up for Saturday Night's Main Event.
- Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre brawled.
- Backstage, Solo Sikoa was talking to JC Mateo when Jacob Fatu rolled up, wanting to talk to Sikoa in private. Sikoa said Mateo is family and anything can be said in front of him. Fatu doesn't trust Mateo as he isn't blood or family and he doesn't like what Sikoa is doing. Sikoa tried to tell them to use this in their tag team match.
- B-Fab & Michin defeated The Secret Hervice (Alba Fyre & Piper Niven) by pinfall.
- The Street Profits were interviewed about their upcoming tag title defense. Sikoa, Fatu, and Mateo ended the segment by walking by them on their way to the ring, sharing just a moment of tension without saying anything.
- Santos Escobar sat down with Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo to talk about Worlds Collide to team up against some AAA guys. Berto is still surly with them.
- Jacob Fatu & JC Mateo defeated Jimmy Uso & Rey Fenix by pinfall.
- R-Truth cut a promo about John Cena.
- Triple Threat Men's Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: LA Knight defeated Aleister Black and Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall on Nakamura.
- TBD - WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford (c) vs Fraxiom (Axiom and Nathan Frazer)
