Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:
On tap for tonight's episode, WWE Women's Champion Jade Cargill steps in the ring with B-Fab. This came about from Cargill overhearing B-Fab talk about how she doesn't like Jade's new attitude. Obviously, considering both of their status on the totem pole, Cargill is going to mop the floor with B-Fab. If this isn't a squash, I'll be shocked. This does not at all strike me as one of those "underdog gets a fluke win and starts a quick program with the champion" situations like what is going on right now between Maxxine Dupri and Becky Lynch over on Monday Night Raw.
There will also be two matches in The Last Time is Now tournament to determine John Cena's opponent for Saturday Night's Main Event. One match is confirmed as The Miz against Jey Uso. Since we don't know the brackets and the other competitors, I'm rooting for The Miz to win this no matter who he'd be up against.
The other match is not yet fully known. LA Knight's opponent has been kept a mystery, so WWE fans are free to speculate on anyone it might be. I think it's a little weird to put Knight up against a babyface, so I doubt it's someone like Jacob Fatu or Joe Hendry. That would be a mistake. Hendry maybe could work if Knight wins, but I still would have booked something like The Miz in that spot instead, so I think that just rules out that idea. Since Gunther has already been placed into the tournament, and I'm expecting him to win, I think this needs to be someone on the heel side making their return (like Austin Theory) or NXT debut (like Ethan Page) or there is a chance at least that it could be Chris Jericho. Predicting the outcome of that match without knowing any other information is a moot point.
