Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown (June 5, 2026) emanates out of the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy and will air at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network, but will air internationally on Netflix at 2 p.m. ET.

This post here will be updated frequently throughout the night to reflect live coverage of Friday Night SmackDown, including all the match results, rundowns of the promos, and any other interesting or noteworthy things that take place. Keep refreshing for updates to find out all the winners and more!

Preview & Predictions for WWE SmackDown:

On tap for tonight's episode, since this is going to be another early episode, WWE hasn't advertised anything formal ahead of time as of this publication. We know that the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments will continue, and it's safe to assume it will just be one match per bracket. Considering there are Raw and SmackDown Superstars in all of the Fatal 4-Way matches, it's anyone's guess which four people from Raw were told to make the trip.

There will also be, generally speaking, the fallout from WWE Clash in Italy. That should include Gunther upset over how he lost his match against Cody Rhodes, despite how his foot had been technically in a rope break the referee didn't notice. Likely, Gunther will complain about how he deserves a rematch, which may lead into people like Sami Zayn reacting in annoyance that they can't get the next opportunity instead.

Another result to follow up on is Rhea Ripley retaining the WWE Women's Championship over Jade Cargill. Is it time to move on to a new feud, or will WWE drag this out longer?

Expect more movement in the MFTs pending a tag team title match against Wepa Up and Royce Keys being caught in the mix of those two teams, as well as Chelsea Green continuing to try to win over Tiffany Stratton, possibly with Blake Monroe as the common enemy between the two. Trick Williams should also be expected to make an appearance, and you bet that first segment is going to be a promo that will lead to a match being announced on the spot like always.

Here are your results for WWE SmackDown - June 5, 2026:

  • Gunther opened the show by protesting the way things ended at Clash in Italy. Cody Rhodes agreed that Gunther deserved a rematch and pushed for it to happen immediately, but Sami Zayn interrupted before anything could be settled. Zayn accused both men of costing him, which sparked a brawl. During the chaos, Gunther pulled Zayn into Cody's path, causing Cody to dive onto Sami instead and adding more strain to the Cody-Sami situation. Later, Gunther threatened legal action against Aldis, and Zayn was complaining to Johnny Gargano some more when Aldis brushed him off to talk to Chad Gable, who appears to possibly be moving to the SmackDown roster.
  • Backstage, The Miz continued looking into Danhausen's experiments while on a video call with Kit Wilson. The investigation went badly when Miz ended up getting electrocuted.
  • Queen of the Ring Tournament Round 1 Fatal 4-Way Match: Raquel Rodriguez defeated Bayley, Kiana James, and Jacy Jayne by pinfall on James. After the match, James was upset with Giulia and those two split up and fought with each other. Also later on, WWE repeated the thing from Raw about Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio being more interested in themselves winning the King and Queen of the Ring, rather than celebrating Raquel's win.
  • Talla Tonga defeated Royce Keys by pinfall. R-Truth tried to help Keys fight off the MFTs, which Damian Priest was upset about, leading to multiple backstage segments of telling that plot point over and over, if you didn't watch the past 3 weeks of SmackDown. Nothing new.
  • Rhea Ripley had a promo that was interrupted by Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, and Jade Cargill (with B-Fab and Michin) to talk about the title scene, leading to an impromptu tag team match where Jade Cargill and Michin defeated Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair by pinfall
  • Fatal Influence attacked Paige and Brie Bella backstage.
  • Ricky Saints defeated Carmelo Hayes by pinfall.
  • Lash Legend defeated Chelsea Green by pinfall.
  • Chad Gable apologized to Rey Fenix about the El Grande Americano gimmick backstage.
  • King of the Ring Tournament Round 1 Fatal 4-Way Match: Dominik Mysterio defeated Bron Breakker, Damian Priest and Trick Williams
