Kane hasn't been seen on WWE programming for quite some time and we now know why. Glenn Jacobs has announced today that he is indeed running for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, a position which will make the WWE Superstar the head on an entire county. His time as Corporate Kane may have come in handy after all, eh?

"I’m officially announcing my candidacy for Knox County Mayor," he said today as reported by ABC affiliate WATE 6. "As Knox County Mayor, I promise to keep taxes low and make Knox County a place everyone can be proud of."

The announcement was made at a barbeque joint in Knoxville and Kane's campaign logo quite appropriately has a flame in it. It's unclear just how much of a chance Kane stands of winning, but he's famous, has lived there for over a decade, and is a Republican. The election takes place on May 1st, 2018 so he has a year to campaign, but will his wrestling background hurt his chances?

Both that and his WWE return date remain to be seen for the time being, unfortunately!
