WWE has cashed in on commemorative championship titles in a big way over the past few years, and following Roman Reigns' shock return on RAW, the company has unveiled the "Tribal Chief Championship Replica Title Belt."
@WrestleVotes previously revealed that, last December, there were discussions in WWE about introducing a literal Tribal Chief Championship, similar to The Rock's People's Championship (which was met with disdain and ridicule from many fans).
"This would have been the title presented to Reigns on Netflix had that decision gone through back in December," the insider has since shared. "Now it’s a commemorative item."
It appears the idea was for this to be presented to Reigns after he regained his "Tribal Chief" status from Solo Sikoa during the first RAW on Netflix. It's a lame idea, and one that wouldn't have done the OTC many favours.
Still, if you'd like to crown yourself the Tribal Chief Champion, it'll set you back a whopping $599.99 (we'd take the Ula Fala over this, though).
Last night's RAW ended with Reigns making his long-awaited return, where he saved CM Punk and Jey Uso from a beatdown at the hands of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. With Punk set to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, it appears we can expect a tag team match pitting Reigns and Uso against the two rising stars.
Here's a closer look at the new Tribal Chief Championship:
