The two remaining semifinalists for the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship have been decided.
On tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, Zoey Stark defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter in a Triple Threat first-round match with a pinfall on Carter after a Z-360.
She will now go on to face Dakota Kai in round 2, who had previously defeated Shayna Baszler and Katana Chance to earn her spot in the semifinals.
We also now know who takes the other spot in the semifinals, due to spoilers of next week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, which was taped in advance tonight.
Originally, it was scheduled to be Alba Fyre of The Unholy Union, Kairi Sane, and Natalya to be the bottom right corner of the bracket. However, there was a backstage segment on tonight's Raw that featured Pure Fusion Collective going after Kairi Sane, messing her hand up considerably to the point that she was pulled from her match. In her stead will be her Damage CTRL partner Iyo Sky.
According to spoilers from those who were in attendance, Iyo Sky actually goes on to defeat Natalya and Alba Fyre by pinfall, meaning she will face Lyra Valkyria in the next round.
Valkyria had previously beaten Zelina Vega of the Latino World Order and Ivy Nile of American Made to secure her spot.
Between Dakota Kai vs. Zoey Stark and Lyra Valkyria vs. Iyo Sky, the semifinals matches will likely take place on the December 30, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, and the finals will almost assuredly happen on the January 6, 2025 edition when WWE Raw premieres on Netflix, as that episode is getting stacked with the announcements of CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, the tease of what seems to be Penta El Zero Miedo's WWE debut, and the Tribal Combat match between Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns.
Each of the remaining Superstars in this tournament all have a rightful claim to winning this title, as Dakota Kai holds an impressive amount of tag team titles, Valkyria is a former NXT women's champion, Stark is a star just waiting for a chance and Sky is a former multi-time women's champion.
Which of these four women do you think will come out of the tournament as the first-ever women's Intercontinental champion? Who do you have winning each of the semifinals matches and making it to the end? Drop your thoughts and predictions in the comments below!
