The annual Champion Carnival tournament is around the corner.

For those of you unaware of All Japan Pro Wrestling’s yearly competition, 18 men will compete in a round-robin style tournament (like the G1 Climax) from April 6 to May 5. Both events will take place in Korakuen Hall, Tokyo.

The winner of their respective match gets two points and the loser gets none. If the match should end in a draw then both wrestlers will receive one point. The two wrestlers with the most points will meet in the finals to determine the Champion Carnival winner.

The tournament has been around since 1973 and notable talents such as Vader (1999), Minoru Suzuki (2009 and 2010), Yuji Nagata (2011), and Naomichi Marufuji (2018) are all previous tournament winners. Check out the 18 wrestlers who will compete in this year’s Champion Carnival:

Yuma Aoyagi
Shuji Ishikawa
Takashi Sugiura
Ayato Yoshida

As previously mentioned, the tournament will run from April 6 to May 5. Check out the All Japan Pro Wrestling website to find the exact date of each tournament match.
