It's not easy for a professional wrestler to stand out from the crowd in the independent wrestling scene, but "Blue Kane" has recently been receiving a lot of attention online.
Decked out in ring gear that's nearly identical to what WWE's Kane wore during the height of his in-ring career (albeit blue rather than red), he's become something of a viral sensation and has been making use of the Big Red Machine's move set during his matches.
However, rather than coming out to fire during his entrance, snow appears because...well, he's blue, not red.
It's a pretty genius move to get attention online, and former WWE Superstar Zack Ryder/Matt Cardona has already challenged Blue Kane to a match. As we're sure you'll remember, he feuded with the original Kane in a now infamous angle which saw Ryder pushed off the stage while in a wheelchair.
Given his often divisive interest in politics these days, we don't anticipate Mayor Glen Jacobs returning as Kane to deal with his doppelganger, but could WWE's lawyers choose to get involved?
There are concerns online that the mysterious Blue Kane might be pushing his luck with his name, mask, and ring gear, with the colour change alone not enough to help him escape some sort of possible copyright infringement. Hopefully, WWE can appreciate the gimmick for the fun homage it is...Blue Kane certainly seems to be having fun, anyway!
AEW is typically pretty quick to jump on any wrestler who gets attention online (remember the guy who made pizza while he wrestled?), but they might not want to push their luck with Blue Kane.
